Hamilton is currently involved in a four-way scrap for the title with McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso and Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen, with just 16 points dividing the quartet Behind the scenes, McLaren remain embroiled in a bitter feud with Ferrari in relation to the "spy' scandal that next week sees the team again in front of the World Motor Sport Council. McLaren are firmly back in the dock and Hamilton's title hopes are on the line as fresh evidence has emerged that could see the team thrown out of this year's championship, and of 2008. The Woking-based marque were initially found guilty of fraudulent conduct, but no sanction was imposed due to insufficient evidence. Ferrari were left fuming, and forced the hand of FIA president Max Mosley, who then ordered a Court of Appeal hearing. That has now given way to a further meeting of the WMSC in Paris next Thursday when it appears unlikely they will let McLaren off the hook for a second time. Hamilton is now determined to punish Ferrari in their own backyard in this weekend's Italian Grand Prix, believing it would represent the perfect salvo to their antics. Asked if winning here at Monza would be a psychological advantage, he replied: "Definitely. "That's been the target for the whole team. That's why they have pushed so hard. "Beating Ferrari on their home ground has got to be a huge blow to their whole team and that would make our team extremely happy. "For me, it would be a great feeling to do that because of what they are putting the team through. "I know my team, I know the people here and I think we are being unfairly treated. So we want to do our talking on the track. "We are the stronger team altogether, not just with the car but as a whole team - back at the factory and the team here." Despite what is transpiring, Hamilton concedes the latest in the ongoing furore is not affecting him, and that he remains unfazed. "I have been oblivious to everything that has been going on as my internet has not been working at home," said Hamilton. "I got here and found out there is stuff going on, and I thought 'shoot'. "I have just been trying to get on with my job, and the rest of it doesn't affect me too much. "I am just acting as if it is a normal weekend, which it is." That is far from the case as the rumours are rife as to who has blown the whistle on McLaren. Last Friday, world governing body the FIA issued a letter to all the Formula One teams - and to three unnamed drivers - urging them to divulge any information on the matter. It is understood one of the responses has led to the FIA deciding on this latest course of action.

There is really no need to make a McLaren-win at Monza into a form of justice against Ferrari´s pursuit of justice in the spy-ing matter. Ferrari is in their fullest of rights to want to truth in this whole matter and it is a simple fact that the McLaren-team is one of the key-parties involved. This is not Ferrari trying to hurt McLaren just for the sake of it and this is not Ferrari trying to win the championship anywhere else than on the track, so in my opinion Hamilton´s remarks are sad and way of the mark. Quite disappointing really. Hamilton is more intelligent than that.
The spin doctors are working overtime. That's a textbook example of a headline saying more about the questions than the answers. I think the headline was written first, and the interview designed to support it, regardless of the answers. Besides, Lewis has been so trained and shaped for F1 that his answers are extremely predictable (bordering on "formulaic"). These days the "formula" part of Formula One is the press stuff. It's odd: This is a fairly close contest, compared to past years. But I just don't find myself getting as excited by the racing this year as much as in the past. "Formula Yawn"?

I f**king hate cheaters, and I have always loved M-M in the past. Lewis and Rubber Dick have killed it for me.
Maybe he is naive to the facts, but Lewis' big mouth shot himself in the foot. And now he has one less fan. Here's hoping he loses from now on. Always best to keep quiet until the facts are public.

Get it?? Seems LH is going after Ferrari, but it is FIA who are asking the questions and calling the hearing. "unfairly treated"? His team, the McCheaters have stolen information from their chief rival and have not been punished (yet) and his team is unfairly treated?? Lewis is digging a potentially huge hole for himself. He may have lessened his chances of keeping his points...and lessened his chances of getting a ride at SF. IMVHO he should have kept his McLiaren mouth shut. We shall see.
I think Lewis is trying to use his clean cut good little boy image to try and soften the fall of his team and his chances at the championship.

Hang on, you don't really mean that--do you really think they are trying to harm MM "just for the sake of it"??!? This is big business and big money. I am OK with it if you say it is about the money, but just for spite? There is much more to it than spite and the issues are infinitely complicated. Just a quick example of complexity in F1 will tell you it is more than spite. When BMW was experimenting with the V-8 engine a while back, they turned up the revs. At 19,000 RPMs each cylinder was firing over 300 times A SECOND. At this rate, the fuel pumpsinjectors were pushing the gas faster and faster through the lines, to the point where the fuel speed was exceeding the speed of sound. THey were getting mini-sonic booms in the lines, causing vibrations and the engines to come apart. It is a simple fix--just increase the diameter of the lines and injectors and you increase the flow without increasing speed. But the point of this is--and the beauty of F1 IMVHO--is the thousands and thousands of issues/details/problems with making a car go as quick as F1. With this in mind, the McCheating issue can;t be as simple as "spite."
I think it is time for you to sell your Ferrari if you still have it and go buy a nice shiny MB and maybe put some bumper stickers on it saying "McLaren-Mercedes are innocent"

Easy there Pal, I am rooting for Ferrari for both WCC and WDC, however, I also enjoy the competition between the teams. If McLaren is Guilty, they should have all their points removed and be banned.
NOT the smartest thing for Hamilton to be talking (out loud in public) at a time like this. Noone will hold it against him for actually "doing the talking on the track" by performing his best and beating his team-mate and Ferrari - that can only increase his respect level. But to *talk* about talking on the track and defending McL without really knowing the facts makes him look stupid, and even worse, complicit.
