I have seen some pics of subs in a GTB and spiders. I have a JL 8w7, zr components, and 5 channel amp I pulled out of my last car. The w7 requires quite some airspac. The only place I can think of to get it is between the seats a la the hi fi sub in the 360. However thats where the roof goes. I really don't want to put it under the bonnet. Can anyone else give any insight? I need almost 1 cu ft of space.

Also can a speaker with 2.65 in mounting depth fit in the doors? I believe factory speakers about 2.15 inches.

Really? Even with the cappy and hyperflows? I swear I can't hear anything but the orchestra coming from behind unless I drive under 3500 rpm.

Thats pretty cool. Does it put any stress on the bonnet lid? Any vibrations or anything like that.

No--They will not fit. I had to put a spacer in between the door and speaker to get mine to fit in there. Just installed JL Audio Components in the car today with a Alpine head unit...

How much room is there between the mounting surface and the door panel when it goes back on? (ie how big of a spacer is allowed?) My car is in the shop right now so info like this isn't readily available to me.

    Who needs a subwoofer in a F355 ? Just add a tubi and you're done :)

j/k I think you can only place it behind the seats or in the front. Or buy a soft top targa roof (aftermarket) and leave the hard top targa roof at home. It's much much smaller than the hard top.

Consider ditching the 8W7 for a 8W0 (if you can find one) or possibly two Focal 5" woofers (I forget the model number). I have done the Focals in the passenger footwell in a small (if I remember correctly a 0.45ft^3 box, ported). You will only loose maybe 3" off passenger foot space and the car will look 100% stock. Sounds AMAZING too.

Where are you located ? -- I can help you to locate a qualified shop in the area if need be.

I used a 1/4" spacer and it is VERY close...almost touching--Actually when the woofer hits hard --it touches a tad...
