WOW! Quite a collection of pics there, thanks! And 216 miles on an F40? That's a crime, surely the owner should let me help out with that little problem :D

Curious why would one pull an engine on the F40 with only 216 miles? Major service based on age or an upgrade? I don't know much about the F40, but I think they stopped making those a while back and so that car with such low miles is probably an appreciating asset - maybe the 216 miles is from trips every year or two for the suggested service regiment? If its not an investment of some sort, then I agree its too bad someone with such a great car doesnt drive it even a few thousand miles a year - you only live once so enjoy the toys you have. I've dropped 10K miles on my 360 spider this summer alone - not an $ investment, but a fun investment and I still stare at it in the garage.

Maybe when you get to the F40 league, it is more akin to fine china, or a nice painting, and is appreciated in a fine home as a piece of art with a wall of glass looking into a well decorated storage area as a garage. If you check out the garage pictures thread, there are some fabulous homes with garages viewable from the living areas that have enzos, F50s, etc.. I was at Kimball farm this past Thursday for cruise night in my 360 and I met some people there who mentioned someone who lives in Weston who has 10 Ferraris - an author of murder mystery books - dont recall the name. Apparently they are building a house there with a turntable garage system where you drive in and the table rotates to a parking spot for a given car (I'd love to see that setup and the cars and have a great idea for a book if that person is lurking here :)). If the car is theirs, then I can understand and appreciate that as the perfect excuse for a low mile F40. Maybe I'll reach that level while having fun climbing the ladder.

Thx for the pics.... I was there too, and I got depressed when I saw how much nicer those cars were than the exotic cars in my family..

    I saw a 355 on a lift, I forget the color.

Btw, bill cosby has an unused f40, no idea if it still has under 1k on it. I'm dumbfounded about a major service with engine removal on that car. With 216 miles, its only audience is 4 walls of a garage :( might as well put it inside the house like some people have done hehe

A car of that age with only 216 miles, probably needs to have many of the rubber seals, gaskets, and hoses replaced. Over time non-use will lead to those items drying out cracking and will also mean oil is leaking. Anyone planning to drive the car, like if it was just purchased would need to replace that stuff along with the belts. Belts according to most Ferrari handbooks need to be changed every 5 years or 30K miles. Belts deform, dry out and crack with non-useage of the vehicel. It would be very costly to fix if a belt broke.

    Just my 2 cents.

I am no F-40 owner, but I do know that there are rubber oil seals around the turbos - if they get too old and are not replaced, they can 'blow' at full boost. When this happens, at best, the car smokes BADLY. At worst, the spraying oil catches fire and ignites the entire car. Replacing the seals, belts, and gaskets frequently is cheap insurance for a VERY high-strung machine like that....
