Thank you. Those pics are great. Like you said, I'll be happy for two minutes. I am wondering how many ex-brunei employees are going to come here to share their photos.

Was the FX gear shift system a Prodrive or Williams product?? A few 355's had a similar system installed before the 355F1 was released by the Maranello factory, was it the same system fitted to the FX??

Was Pininfarina solely responsible for the RHD conversions on the 288GTO's and F50's???

The system on the FX was a Williams product. I don't know if the Brunei F355's got the same system, all I know about those is what you guys told me.

As far as I know the RHD conversions for the F50 and 288 GTO were done by PininFarina theirselfs and were not done by another company in order of PF.

Well after you dust away all the hype and bull then its just a case of working in a garage but a very expensive garage where the sole customer if very fussy.... any good mechanic shouldnt find that hard to do! and with any job the good ones usually cover up the mess the bad ones do, iam certainly no fab-tastic spanner but i did pay attention to what i was doing and ALWAYS asked questions if i got a little confused with job in hand! Follow them rules and the rest falls into place, i would generally say that most of the spanners i worked with did a damn good job but a few did show flaws only to deny it.... I have worked alot in top flight motorsport and its very surprising to see the amount of clueless mechanics in top teams, afterall you just have to be a good fitter and not a trained mechanic in top flight motorsport...Engineers do all the thinking..the mechanics are just bolters as one F1 chassis engineer put it to me a few years ago-- that annoyed me as ive always taken pride in being a mechanic but he had a very valid point considering that some of those said mechanics i worked with would quite frankly get lost trying to diagnose a simple misfire on a current day road car in a busy garage environment, believe me i have seen this very example happen! As for getting the job in the first place... if you spend enough time looking, it will eventually show itself and again thats the same for any job - if your face fits then cool your in! Once your in then its a matter of keeping your nose clean and doing what your told! Test Drives is another story, i kinda knew i was lucky to be driving these machines as no other job in the world would give me this chance, so i made sure every time i stepped into an exotic that i respected it's horsepower and my employers trust...if i stuffed any machine i knew it would be a ticket home never to be asked to come back, had a few lucky escapes as iam no schumey but hey the ego does get away from one self after awhile when driving exotics starts to become the usual!

    - Aston Martin Special Series II & III -

Three Aston Martin Vantage Special Series II were designed and made by Aston Martin's Special Project Team in 1998. I think (not 100% sure) these cars had the following chassisnumbers: #70508, #70509 and #70510.
The Series II had a 600 BHP engine, wich could the car up to 190 MPH (in theory 205 MPH was possible). And then the design: I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. I think they look brilliant :D!

While the Series II were not even finished yet, the Special Projects Team allready started making three Aston Martin Vantage Special Series III's. Three chassis' were gathered: #705011, #705012 and #70091 and the body shells were created. The cars were ready to be finished, but at that moment the Brunei crisis started. The project was cancelled by the Brunei Royal Family just before they could be completed. Unfortunately the three Series III cars were destroyed, because of the contract that promised absolute exclusivity to Prince Jefri (no one other than him could own these cars) :(.

    Hi@all!

After the sudden and unexpected appearance of the green-metallic Dauer 962 LM, which is #141 (BQ 7162) according to "the list", i rechecked my infos and sources again to come up with following chassis-history: (NOTE: This is only an assumption based on my present knowledge. It can also be, that the given facts turn out to be incorrect in future.)

#133 (in Brunei: BQ 126 - yellow/red with silver and black BBS rims)

Is the first Dauer 962 LM and was presented at the IAA 1993 in Frankfurt (yellow/yellow with alloy Speedline rims). The same car was later displayed at the Motorshows in Dubai (yellow/yellow with alloy Speedline rims) and Singapour (yellow/yellow with alloy BBS rims). According to some rumors/sources the Sultan bought this car at the Singapour Motorshow. Before it was sold, this car was also coverd by car magazines from all over the world around that time (1993/94). There are also some promoshots of this car with black Speedline rims!
This Dauer 962 LM was equiped with a 5-speed manual gearbox which was placed on the very right of the cockpit (same as in the 956/962 racecars). In late 1997 the car was seen at the factory in Nueremberg. I suppose, that at that time the car got its red interior, tinted windows and the semi-automatic gearbox which was now placed in the middle of the cockpit! In 1998 this car was photographed in Brunei in that particular configuration and appeared in articles in "Autocar" and "Wheels".

    #141 (in Brunei: BQ 7162 - green-metallic/? with ? rims)

THIS car was photographed in that particular configuration in Brunei at a workshop.
(NOTE: For some unkonwn reasons there are actually TWO 962-chassis numbered 141!!
In 1989 Dauer crashed THIS #141 in Mexico City. It was later rebuilt around a new unnumbered factory chassis. Dauer and Konrad Racing used this rebuilt car in 1990. It was later converted into THIS 962 LM #141.
As written above, there is another #141 which was also owned by Dauer at least up until 2002. It is a 962C Short Tail/Sprint Body race car. It has a white/green TicTac livery and wears start number 17 - a number Dauer used in the 1989 season. The car was seen at the factory in 2001 and in the Dauer Showroom in 2002. It was sold in 2003. Currently it is raced in the historic GTP-Series, still in its original livery.)

    #151 (in Brunei: BQ 7523 - ?/?/?)

I think this car is neither black, red, yellow nor green!

    #169 (with Dauer: N-CM 962 - yellow/green with alloy BBS rims)

The homologation car for the Dauer 962 LM race car. It was built in 1994. This car had exactely the same interior as the early #133 (yellow, 5-speed manual gearbox on the very right) but a different exterior shape. It was covered by several car magazines around that time. In a lot of photos the car is equiped with alloy BBS rims. In LeMans 1994 it was, however, displayed with silver and yellow BBS rims. I suppose, that this car was converted back to the original 962 LM bodyshape after 1994. In its past 1994-configuration it appeared as a look-a-like of the early #133 (yellow/yellow with alloy BBS rims and the 5-speed manual gearbox on the very right). In 1996/97 this particular car was seen in many promoshots. However, in late 1997 the car was seen at the fatory (together with #133). I think, that at that time the car got its green interior and was upgraded with the semi-automatic gearbox. In early 1998 this car was ?tested? by auto-motor-sport tv (a german car magazine). During this ?test? it was equiped with silver and black BBS rims. It is rumored, that this is the car which reached a topspeed of 404,6 Km/h at the VW-owned Ehra-Lessien testtrack in 1998. This car was seen at the factory in 2001 and in the Dauer Showroom in 2002. Some sources claim that Dauer wants to keep this car!

#172 (in Brunei: KF 9911 - black/black with silver and black BBS rims)

No special history. Often photographed together with #175 (red)!

#173 (with Dauer: Race Car #35)

    LeMans Pretest 05/1994
    LeMans 24h 1994: 3rd

#175 (in Brunei: BP 962 - red/black with silver and black BBS rims)

No special history. Often photographed together with #172 (black)!
    Appeared in car magazine "Wheels"

#176 (with Collection Schlumpf, Mulhouse: Race Car #36)

    LeMans 24h 1994: 1st

Dauer 962 LM - carbon-clear with yellow stripes/black with alloy BBS rims
    Chassis# TP1214153400
    ( http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=815&stc=1)

for sale in Germany as of 2007 (? 1 million)
This car was first registered in 10/2001. It was built for a swedish customer who also own a silver CLK-GTR, a red 911-GT1, a blue EB110 GT and used to own a green McLaren F1 and an orange McLaren F1 GTR! This car has an upgraded engine with an output of 884 PS instead of the regular 730 PS!! The original plate was ?SRW 913". The car was sold back to Germany in 2003. This car used to have a slightly different interior and was also spottet with black Speedline rims! In its present configuration, this car was ?tested? by german car magazine ?AutoBild test&tuning? in July 2003.
(NOTE: This car is often claimed to be #133. But to my present knowledge this car is neither #133 nor was it ever in Brunei! Not everything which is written on 962.com is true! Don?t be fooled by the photo of the car registration as well! I think the photo of #133 car registration was taken in 1993 when the first Dauer 962 LM debuted. Why do I think so? Well, the interior of the original #133 & #169 used to be spartan/close to a race car, so the weight of 1080 Kg seems pretty realistic [see registration photo]. This 962 LM, as well as the Brunei-962LM?s, is equiped with an upgraded interior and the semi-automatic gearbox which raises the weight to 1130 Kg [source of weight: AutoBild test&tuning]. So, my final conclusion: this car registration photo does not belong to this particular car!)

Well, thats all info of the known 962 LM's i have so far

Maybe some people here that have seen the cars irl can fill in the blanks, like:

    #141 (in Brunei: BQ 7162 - green-metallic/? with ? rims)

    #151 (in Brunei: BQ 7523 - ?/?/?)
I think this car is neither black, red, yellow nor green!
