I'd guess in the $500K-$600K range - depending on condition, provenance, blah, blah...

A couple of years ago I predicted that these things were set to take the next skyrocket into the upper atmosphere. Still waiting...

By events i mean the famous ones such as the Tour Auto , Mille Miglia , Le Mans Classic ..

I understand this car wasnt meant for this kind of event ( Tour Auto would be ok though..) but i also think its one of the reason its price hasnt sky rocketed, esp when compared to a Lusso , which is elligible for the Tour Auto .

I do not think you are finding one in this range, in the current market place. If you do PLEASE ring me.

How much is Ketcham asking for the bright yellow one? Or has it been sold already?

I do not know how much Bill Grimsley's car is?

Rather not deal with the vendor, actually won't. I will give the owner a call.

It was 600,000 net to Bill a while back, I am assuming it may have gone up.

Why have 365 Californias gone up so much in comparison? Those are close to a million, and historically it seems like 500SFs and 365 Californias have been priced similarly.

Because there are only 14 units and because they are open cars. Besides that they can almost considered one-offs, each was a bit different, different taillights and interiors, etc.

There may be only 14 built, but they're all, in my opinion, ugly. I much prefer the looks of the 500 Superfast and, better yet, the 400 SA Aero Coupes. A would much rather have a 365 GTS for around the same money. They are prettier, driver better and are almost as rare.

Still, it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

I also think that the fact that very few people prefer coupés to cabriolets may affect the price. Best wishes, Kare

500 Superfast will never be a top tier selling Ferrari imho for two reasons.

    - chassis based on a 2+2 model
    - Lampredi engine

But thats just me, everyone has their own taste.

They are great and a truely unique Ferrari, but i would never "invest" in one.

They are just outshined by to many other models.

    -edit:

well i just got word it is a Colombo engine. Please excuse my above post. I had always thought it was a Lampredi. Thanks my friend.

500 Superfast prices free to travel high :)

If it had a Lampredi engine, it might be worth more. Pretty much any Lampredi motored cars (410SA) are 1-1.5 million at this point.
