...that shows the engine off? I saw some for the earlier model, but what about the 512 TR?

Norwood does not make a clear engine cover but they have a supplier who does. That supplier redesigned the lid and was backlogged for a while but I think that they may have shipped some recently. Give Mike & James in Dallas a call... - I want one too!

Anyone have a picture of one?
I guess I'm not seeing it in my mind why you would want to see the air filter.

Found it. - for the testarossa, that is. - Oh my God, it is beautiful and expensive
    $1800+ tempered glass

I don't know exactly what is going on here. Maybe a Norwwod turbo setup.

    silvergts1998,

I've already looked into getting a clear engine bonnet cover for my 512TR. It doesn't exist at the present moment. I've done some interesting designs for one though (posted on FerrariRosso in the TR photo section) You'll have to have your existing bonnet modified by a specialist to do this. The engine cover pictured above by Norwood only fits a Testarossa and not a 512TR. You see the Testarossa rear bonnet is completely different to the 512TR rear bonnet. If you want that Norwood clear engine cover on your car you'll have to replace your 512 bonnet with a Testa bonnet to fit that clear/carbon fiber plexiglass section pictured above. It will not fit on your 512TR. The best thing you can do is have the black portion of your rear bonnet removed and sent to a specialist who can cut a square hole with rounded corners into the middle of it and have it replaced with clear plexiglass. If you look underneath the bonnet at the middle portion of the black section of it you'll notice a square piece of wadding attached there. If you peel back the edges, you'll notice there is even a cut out border that can be used as a guide when cutting it out ready to be replaced with a clear plexiglass cover.

Dan, I've seen your prior posts on designing your own cover for the 512.

My point regarding the Testa cover is that it is beautiful, but what would it look like if the engine did not have the Norwood tubo mods that have eliminated the stock air box and filter?
I wonder if it would be worth it. Perhaps i'll look into it this month.

Also the 512 would need different grill work to have a clear shot, no?
That wouldn't be too hard to weld up.

Okay I will keep it stock. Not going to mess with it.

But let me ask you guys this. The foam pad under the engine cover lid....it that really necessary? It's thick and looks like it helps keep heat in the intake. Anyother fix that that thick pad? Maybe something some kind of heat refective material instead?

LOL! I just realize what I said. Yes I want to show off the spare tire.

Bumping an old thread...couldn't find anything newer on the topic..?

I'd like to get this done to my Testarossa. The $1,800 Norwood carbon fiber version looks nice, but that price is pretty steep and I'd rather keep it body-color rather than carbon fiber, anyway.

Any other options out there? Has anyone tried just cutting a hole and putting in the glass? I might write Norwood, and ask how much they want just for the glass... :)

Looks nice! That's what Norwood suggested I do, when I wrote them. But buying a big carbon fiber piece just to paint it seems kind of silly to me...? Is it taller than the stock decklid? Wouldn't just cutting a hole in the standard decklid give me the exact same result?

I think it would. You would have to fabricate a frame and or trim piece for the glass to sit in.

Is it glass? Or is it some type of Lexan?
