Just a rumor but one you can probably take to the bank - which is the only place there will be money enough to pay for these toys. Good news for the guys that have previous year cars as resale values will climb but a loaded 599 will be pushing $400K and a 430 Spider will settle in at $300K. Obviously, Ferrari is tired of not getting their cut of the real market value of their cars, but they will blame it on the dollar....ha. Ferrari rules!!!!

Could be true. The Dollar to Euro exchange ratio would easily justify it. In the end, Ferrari does their accounts in Euro...

Per dealer, 599 price increase is $40K but includes CCB which was a $20K option.

Just like real estate, second hand values could tank! Sure it is easy to find people who will pay even $500K for a brand new Ferrari. However, how many people would pay that amount for a second hand car?...

Right now there are several dozen people vying for the chance to pay $500,000 for a second hand 599GTB. The problem is that the sellers want a tad more than that :)

I'm in the process of buying an F430. Would the coupe be covered in the price increase as well?

No. They will make a special "coupe" adjustment and leave that price alone. Why, they may even lower it....

That's only $20k in real increase, not really that bad in context of the $350k+ MSRP for a loaded one.

My dealer just showed me a build sheet for an F430 spyder for over 300K MSRP.

He also just sold a "used" one for $330K (list was 250K), so it's not like you're getting ripped off with the new MSRPs...

Well it depends on your view. If you have a short term view , then yeah you will flip it and make 50-100K$ but if you want to continue to be able to buy new Ferrari without having to relocate abroad then you just have to swallow the pill .

Btw, what was special on the +$300k Spider ?

Challenge Grill , CCB , Challenge wheels , Carbon everywhere , paint to sample ?

There was a 15k bump on my car 1 month before delivery. Pay it, or go home. I sat on the list for 6 years. Play=pay.
FNA sees the flips, wants to weed out them to get cars into hands of real owners. They'd be idiots to sell at below market. Market may be gone someday.
Some of us will still be there, buying and driving them. If you have 320k to spend on a car, what's another 70k? If you can't afford that, why you buying in first place? To make $ on a flip? I agree though that 330k for a used 430 is nuts when an average 599 is 320-330k. But we all know 8's are better than 12's

The price increase will help Ferrari and the Ferrari dealers in several ways.

    - Selling slightly fewer cars in the U.S. gives them some allocation for their expanding Russian, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets without increasing worldwide production.

    - The higher prices will reduce the size of the population of people who can afford it so maybe the waiting lists will go from 4 to 5 years in length back down to 2 years.

    - The higher prices for the F430 coupe and spiders leaves more room underneath for a new "lower priced" Dino type of model.

    - The current inventory of used 360 coupes and spiders sitting in every Ferrari dealers showrooms will be easier to sell at the retail dealer price level.

    - It helps to position the future replacement for the F430 to be a $350k+ car. This is kind of like the jump in pricing from the 575M to the 599.

    - The bump in cash flow will help the Ferrari team fund their F1 comeback against McLaren!

Very thoughtful and well said. Raising the price of this level of car does not detract. There is nothing that really competes with this car in any price range. Some might say the LP640, but that is not similar at all.

BTW - you have a beautiful car. I spotted it in the District a while ago, and LOVED the interior. Great choice.

I haven't heard of the price increase and I hope they don't go up that much. I bought a new 355 with F1 and spyder in '98 for 142k I think. Now to double the price and then some in 9 years is a lot to swallow. My new 430 was 225k in '06. I agree that some cars are sold at market but are there enough buyers at market for the whole US allocation for the next 3 years?
