Seriously, is it just me or are 99% of the threads in this Racing section ending up with the same 2-3 people arguing in a personal manner about things that will only be decided on Thursday by the FIA? I know that I was guilty of this for a bit but imo, it WAY overboard now. Even threads that have nothing to do with it are ending up like this.

I call for a ban on McLaren vs. Ferrari threads until the decision is made on Thursday. Only then will we all know what facts are being used to judge. I know it will end up with the same people arguing even after the FIA makes their decision but seriously, this is ruining the racing section imo.

You beat me to it, sir. I have just been lurking around them to see if anything really interesting shows up, and guess what?

I have now even forgotten whose side everybody is on - even the two Sennas. 355? dont know any more...Italian tabloid journalists?
They have been talking to space aliens, apparantly.

It is all such a blur. Oh well, back to that Oriental Bondage Girl thread...

What else is there to discuss? The "racing" on the track in F1 is laughable, IRL is over, only 6 people in the nation watch ALMS, and I'm not sure if Champ Car is still even alive. Want to talk JPM/NASCAR some more?

We did get into a promising hijack on the Dallas Cowboys on one of them, IIRC.

I agree that there are too many threads focusing on the same thing and I could merge them, but am somewhat reluctant as that generally tends to upset and confuse people.

And as Tillman said, what else is there to discuss? With such a HUGE decision looming, anything else really becomes irrelevant.

PS: I started a new thread and topic, but nobody seems to care:

I care mate I had a look at thread I dont know I would have probably asked you.

This thread has the same (effect attention) to the battle..

It keeps bernie happy..F1 on/of track attention media etc.

The only point I have ever made is to let the powers that be sort it out, ie not outrightly slam anyone until all the true facts are out.

Whatever the outcome it will not be satisfactory for all A fact.

I dont like falling out with anyone.

Truer words have never been spoken.

I'm certain we will have a firestorm on here once the verdict is out. :)

R.E. the new thread: In the computer industry, we are a little sensitive about all things being outsourced to India. Anyway, when I saw TaTa Motors, I thought we were off on another much-needed joke thread.

BTW, for those suffering from the overload, look under the British other topics, Oriental Girls. I was just kidding about the dragon ladies, only two or three of them are not your typical high-achieving college types.

On a serious note, I was sad to see how quickly that thread on the FIA proposed 4 cylinder with energy recovery, etc. died out in the wake of the scandal. That, I think, may pose a greater challenge to the sport than anything Stepney/Coughlin/et.al. have yet done.

Last week at Chicagoland Jacques Villeneuve tested the NASCAR Truck of Mike Skinner. Skinner is 2nd in the points. Skinner ran a few laps and then JV. Within 12 laps he was 0.60 off of Skinner's best time. He finished the day 0.20 off of Skinner's best. JV will start his first truck race at Las Vegas Sept. 22.

And yes, I'm bored stiff with the endless debate that could be summed up in a paragraph.

That would actually be a very long paragraph.

I think this case is very unique and of gigantic proportions. I'd say you'd have to go back to 94 to find a year with equally big things happening in F1.

I agree it's huge, I guess I'm just hoping that everyone can settle down, perhaps a gentleman's agreement until the verdict is out, and at that point I expect all hell to break loose!

The whole issue is disappointing and I look forward to it being behind us. Though I'm happy to see (I think) them take the matter seriously and not just brush it over.

I'm looking forward to understanding the facts, if they ever come out.

OK, but those threads should be kept under vigilance, because they use to get scary.

You could always try just not opening them if you dont want to read them, rather than suggesting that the rest of the entire site be deprived of the discussion. If it's a hot topic, then it will be discussed - presumably because people are interested in it and want to discuss it. Whats the problem with that? Its not like you have to read every thread - my mouse has a scroll wheel, doesn't yours? :)

I love F1, but you guys should spend more time watching moto gp if you want to see real racing with no bull****. Man and machine against one another, no electronic aides or gadgets and plenty of passing among the leaders. Doesn't get better than that.

I don't mean to begrudge those with an interest. Maybe I'm more disappointed than bored. On the other hand the fastest racing car in the world won't go away. The fallout could even improve things.

    Did you get my PM?

Hey now, I'm planning my Petite LeMans trip as we speak.

The beauty of Road Atlanta, access to the cars and drivers, racing from the day into the night. I even hope it rains a little. One of the best events in the US.
