Did anyone else see this yet? All chrome Bugatti. I want to see a convertible Veyron. Excuse me if its a repost.

Considering it is rolling out barely one Veyron a week, you'd be hard-pressed to call the reborn Bugatti brand "mainstream." But for some folks, two identical cars are just too darn many. So look for a special lineup of what will be the ultimate in limited editions, the Bugatti Pur Sang, or "pure blood," in French.

"Some customers have told us they want more (customization)" than is currently offered with the $1.4 million, 1001-horsepower Veyron 16/4, explained Franz-Josef Paefgen, CEO of both the Bugatti and Bentley divisions of Volkswagen. ("No customer," he quickly added, "has complained about the power.")

Five copies of the Pur Sang will be made, each featuring an unpainted pairing of carbon fiber and aluminum bodywork. To set the new look off, Bugatti is throwing in a set of high-gloss aluminum wheels with diamond cut finish.

Bugatti has so far delivered just 100 Veyrons, with "orders in hand for another year or so," according to Paefgen. That's a bit less than expected, and has led many observers to wonder what might be in the brand's future. There had been numerous reports Bugatti would show up in Frankfurt with a convertible version of the Veyron. While a ragtop is still possible, company officials are not discussing what's under consideration, at least not yet.

It is cool, but I would prefer one that was all bare carbon fiber, not just partially bare carbon fiber like in this concept.

I'm having trouble understanding this. They're selling less than they thought they would, so the answer was to come up with a limited edition version that has no paint? Between this and the Reventon it appears as though VAG is hitting the pipe pretty hard lately.

Orginal Veyron production was twenty five a year IIRC, if they are making one a week, they are double that. I personally prefer polished metal work to bare carbon fiber, so between an exposed carbon fiber zonda, and this, I'd take the Veyron.

    I think it was 50, not 25. 300 altogether @ 25/yr = 12yrs production? Unlikely.

I think since Porsche acquired a controlling interest in VW they are trying to make their own products look better by sabotaging Lambo

The Bug is so Fugly it doesnt need any sabotage

BTW I heard there are now around 150 unsold Veyron's maybe they'll have a fire sale on ebay :)

Porsche is far more interested in getting Volkswagen back on track than sabotaging Lamborghini. In fact I'd imagine that Porsche has no interest in sabotaging Lambo at all. Seeing as they effectively own 30% of it...

I really like it in the aluminum and CF. I'd get one, but only if the steering wheel had diamonds on the EB emblem.
