Hi@all! BIG THANKS for the positive reaction/comments! Maybe a certain member of this board is able to reveal the configuration of #151 and cofirm the existence of a sixth Brunei Dauer (like some sources claim) btw: According to some rumors Ralph Lauren owns a 962LM. Does anyone has heard of it or can even confirm it? Besides this, there is also this shot which gives me some questions: It seems like an all black Dauer with an all red interior.(look above the hinge of the door) http://www.fastcoolcars.com/962-dauer/Dauer-32.htm Any infos on that particular one? Something totally off topic: I know that a lot of users of F-Chat are also members of the ************* forum. Could it be that the forum on ************* has some problems with new registrations?? I signed up on last Saturday. After the usual procedure, it was written that my password would be send to my e-mail address. Up until moday morning I havent recieved it! So I thought that maybe something went wrong. I registered again on monday with a different nick/e-mail address and was able do to exactly one post.(i stayed on the site instead of checking my emails because of the password). After I left ************* I was somehow loged out and up until now havent recieved this password either!? So Im still unable to do further posts! Due to this problem I contacted ************* twice, but they havent replyed yet! Does anyone know whats the deal? If you know what went wrong or is wrong you can drop me a line: floorfilla(at)directbox(dot)com Thanks in advance
I allways thought that red car was #133. All the cars have the part where you get into the car in black carbon. In that picture you posted you just can't see the yellow paint on the exterior yet. Refering to the Black/Red theory - I think your right basmann! I probably got fooled by the angle the shot was taken in. I checked several photos where you can see the doorhinge. BTW: THANKS for your help on my account problem
I have always thought that the photo below shows the nose of a silver 962 in slot "D". That's just my perception though... >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
That could very well be it I had it labelled as "Porsche?" But it really fits the profile of the Dauer Sweet
OMG!!! That's awesome - great work Erik and a sharp eye too I'M pretty confident that this is an Dauer 962LM - especially the part of the LF rim we see makes me so confident! (just compare it to the yellow, red and black 962LM - sliver and black BBS rims) Looks more white than silver to me. I'm sure it's the "missing" #151, or the rumored 6th Brunei 962LM (if it even exists)! How can someone be so blind - silly me I also have this pic, but whenever I looked at it in the past the only "thing" I recognized was 09R... Greetings
On carpassion.com we also discussed about the units: http://www.carpassion.com/de/forum/andere-modelle-porsche/2601-dauer-962-porsche-post473606.html?highlight=recherchiert By the way: In August 2006 Jochen Dauer said according to a component supplier that he built in total eleven cars incl. the two race cars for Le Mans 1994.
@400 Kmh Ich weis Hab da schon einige Beitraege gepostet! (nick: yuma) Meines Wissens nach sind 11+2 962LM gebaut worden... Gruesse
what is the car at F ?....really looks interesting....btw....is this garage no 5 ?......does it have a glass cover and air con inside it ?.....it really looks like a showroom and museum than a garage to me !
Yes this is a picture of house no5 i know because i took the picture, it is what we called the glass house and it housed all the rare supercars F was a Jag xj15 i think thats the right name for it and yes that is a silver dauer 962 it also housed the first f40 prototype chassis no 001 and the mclaren f1 le mans replica winning car the other cars i cant remember because ut was nearly ten years ago since i was there. The glass house was situated on the roof which there were 4 garages below and the f1 museum and 4 garages in each corner with the glass house in the middle, if you go back a few pages you can see it on my aerial dhot of the site, these garages housed the porsches in one all the rolls and bentley specials the special ferraris such as the mythos and fx and it is where that Ferrari full size model was shown to the Princes. I have always said if someone wants to pay for my flight i can show them where it is.
wow....awesome.....thanks for taking the pic and showing it to us.....is the formula 1 museum under that glass house ?.......we already know that D is a dauer....E is the mclaren and F is the jag....what car is A, B and C then ?..... off topic for a while......just wanna ask what kind of animals are inside the zoo.....what is a simulator building and coach garage.....what is a goldcrest.....what is inside the prince's private store and why is garage 1 situated far from the others....i hope someone can answer my questions.....thnks
Hi! BIG THANKS@ black label for confirming the existence of a silver Dauer 962LM! btw: Do you know if there is a 6th Dauer in Brunei besides the Silver,Yellow,Red,Green and Black one? You said, that you were the one who took this picture - is there a chance of posting a high res. version of that photo. (You probably still own the negative, don't you?) Greetings
Maybe slightly OT, but can someone explain to me why in those photos some 962s have the gear stick on the left and some on the right of the driver? Are there many substantial mechanical differences between the produced Dauers?
Ok he had Lions, Eagles in that cage thing behind the glass house Coy carp and Monkeys, that was about it. The simulator building housed real F14 fighter simulators. F1 simulator the two princes used to have dog fights on two really expensive military simulators coll eh! The Coach Garage housed there fully pimped Neoplan coaches which they used to use very occasionally. Goldcrest was a production company and rumors were that he produced the first Batman movies because in there private stores there were the original outfits from the movies along with all there bling stuff and a collection of models in glass cases of all the special cars that they have ever had made also it housed Prince Hakims golf club collection (he owns Mizuno) well he did back then. Garage 1 was the closest one to there houses so this is where all the cars that they were currently using on the top floor and Ferraris and other supercars on the bottom floor. Re have i still got the negative unfortunatley no the magazine kept all of them. I will have another look at that picture and see if anything can jog my memory.
I've got them like this: A. 288 GTO B. F50/F40 C. F40 LM D. 962 LM E. F1 GTR F. XJR 15 (I first thought this was a Yamaha OX99-11, wich would be really cool, lol) Then there's also a GTO EVO in there, but I can't really tell wich one that is (of it even is in the picture).. edit: @ Yuma, how's your SCN username coming along?
thanks for the info guys....really appreciate it......do tell me more stories from brunei.... ....and btw...how many floors are there at each garage ?...and are they fully air conditioned ?
Good evening everyone, I've uploaded 38 new pictures to the Dauer page in the Brunei gallery to illustrate the discussion we're having concerning these 962 LM's . I've also taken out the 13 pictures of #169 (license plate BBP 962) when it was yellow/yellow and as it is now (yellow/green), this was the homologation car that didn't go to Brunei. 1 picture of #151 (silver) 11 pictures of #133 (yellow/yellow) 12 pictures of #133 (yellow/red) (I've taken the magazine pictures through Pshop) 3 pictures of #175 (red/black) 3 pictures of #172 (black/black) 1 picture of #175 and #172 together Link: http://www.*************/gallery/129612/976/5.html
Hi! Great work basmann - as always! Unfortunately most of the yellow-Dauer pictures show #169 not #133 - don't get fooled by the plates. If you are able to e-mail me the bunch of your yellow Dauer pics, i can sort it out for you! (which is #133 and which is #169 and why) floorfilla(at)directbox(dot)com btw: were you able to download the 2nd Dauer vid, you wrote that you've got some problems with it... To my SCN accout: Nothing new. I even changed my spam-filter settings on my various e-mail addresses, but up until now i haven't recieved a password yet. Even though I used the "forgot my password" option twice today...?? I also always wondered, why my post was dated on the 9th even though I posted it on the 10th??
Just remembered there was also the Mclaren that is the drawing on Basmans gallery the black one with the multi coloured stripes that was in there too.
From the High-res FTW series : - Aston Martin Vantage Special Series I - The Special Series I (,II and III) fullfilled the 1997 request from Prince Jefri for special two door supercars. The Vantage Special Series I was based on the V600 platform. There was a lot of work done under the skin of the Special Series II, wich was also used for the Special Series II's and III's. The 600 BHP engine could easily propel the SS I to 205 MPH. Three Aston Martin Vantage Special Series I's were made by the Special Projects Group in 1997/1998: #70505 - Black #70506 - Titanium Grey #70507 - Special Red (has been resprayed black later on) Also pictured is the Mule, that has been used for extensive testing and fine tuning. If you look at the pictures you can see how the design of this car evolved from the design drawings to the model, to the actual finished car. The end result is truly an amazing car that looks like a modern DB4 GT Zagato. Stunning :] Direct link to the 14 new images: http://www.*************/PitLane?viewThread=y&gID=2&fID=0&tID=104217&bottom=330#post345 Link to the Aston Martin page: http://www.*************/gallery/129612/976/1.html
