It may be because I've never had a Spider before, but I think I prefer it to the 599 and the 612. Even though the 599 is faster, handles better, and IMO more beautiful, the F430 Spider has much more sole and spirit - if you know what I mean. You feel much more connected to the car. And I'm being good for the first 1000 kilometers - keeping it under 5,000 rpm. The Spider should rip once I start going into the upper rpm range. I can't wait!!!

Amen....I totally agree with you. I have driven the 599, but personally I love and prefer the F430. Like you said, the F430 has more sole and spirit. The F430 is a wild car with very unique and obvious characteristics. I am through my second F430 which I plan to keep and now waiting for the delivery of my 430 Scuderia next March.

The F-430 certainly has smitten me. It really has made sports car owning very special.

It's a chilly morning in Sun Valley, Idaho, 37F and in a couple on minutes I am going to drive, with top down, in my 430 down the highway with "Earth Wind and Fire" competing with the music right behind and not a cloud in the sky- PRICELESS!!! If only the golf game that follows could be so prefect. There IMHO nothing like a topless Ferrari cruising down the highway. I will say the 430 is the best yet, but the 430 replacement will be even better. I will let everybody know how much better it is.

Not to be too critical, but it is SOUL - not sole - yes? The fomer being the principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans, regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body, and commonly held to be separable in existence from the body; the spiritual part of humans as distinct from the physical part. The later being one, individual or only - OR the bottom or under surface of the foot or shoe :)))

not to be too critical but it's "former" instead of fomer and "latter" instead of later ;)

I meant that it had more "surface of the foot." The petal is much larger on the F430. Haha...

As I am more likely to butcher it, I appreciate the note. In a way, though, both sole (individual) and soul - fit the bill (tho we proudly have an F430 coupe and spider in the family, so I cannot say I have a favorite :))

+1 --- I have driven a few cars and I have never driven a better road car. There may be faster cars, but for the street the power-chassis-finish, is almost perfect. Tarek, another car? You should probably go over to the Dubai post and take a look at the "garages" some of these guys have - they are bigger than a department store parking lot. Best

He's talking about the F430, not the 360.

Your name made our local paper/WSF? regarding the wild fires in your area. They mentioned your cars (including the 430 Spider) and the AIG program of coming out to spray your home with fire retardants. That is one hell of a benefit.:)

The fires came close but no structures were lost. Main thing- cars are just fine.
