Anyone here, have a ferrari 308 with a supercharger installed ? What would be the approximate drop in miles per gallon gtsi and quattrovalvole ?
+1 I mean how bad could it be?? 8mpg? Do you drive it every day? If not supercharge it and have some fun!
If you drive the car normally, there isn't much observable change in gas mileage, but that's really hard to do! It's too much fun to put your foot down on freeway entrances! I had to drive slowly when I drove it cross-country on snow, so I do have some accurate data to go on. I get about 12 mpg when I drive passively on snow. The exhaust note is a bit different... It's got a lower more throaty sound to it now even at idle. The whir of the supercharger adds a lot as well, especially when it winds up. The centrifugal supercharger sounds a lot like a turbocharger, which catches Ferrari afficionados off guard. The general public doesn't know the difference. They just see the prancing horse on the fender. Thor
Who makes superchargers to fit the 308?? I plan to buy a 308 in the next five years or so and would like to do this to whatever 308 I buy. At the moment I am just not there financially yet and am too mobile bouncing back and forth between Europe and the US. PDG
A bolt-on version (like mine) is available from 928 Motorsports. http://928motorsports.com/superchargers.html
