Hamilton: World title hasn`t been tainted
    Monday 17th September 2007 - Planet F1

Lewis Hamilton has rejected Max Mosley's claim that winning this year's title will be tainted by the spy scandal.

FIA president Mosley claimed Hamilton would not feel comfortable should he go on to become the first rookie Champion in the sport's history.

Mosley also insisted there would forever be a question mark over the Championship as he believes McLaren "effectively cheated".

After seeing his lead over McLaren rival Fernando Alonso cut to two points after Sunday's Belgian GP, Hamilton said: "I don't particularly have anything to say to, or about, Max Mosley.

"But I feel this is a worthy World title. We have all worked hard this year and the way I feel, the team have done absolutely nothing wrong.

"I have taken the opportunity I have been given, and just done as good a job as I could with it.

"I don't see why people will say, if I win, it is a tainted Championship."

and people tought Michael Schumacher was an EGOMANIAC...this guy doesnt even care how fellow drivers see him, or his team or team mate, everything is just about him...

no wonder he never breaks getting to the fist apex...if he misses it, no one will penalize him...

and if he brakes his car?...then we get the pace car in front until he gets ready in his T car, and then he´s order to lead the pack...

Sorry everyone....I thought this guy was OK and sang his praises earlier in the year. If this guy really said this then he is another goof in F1. Nowhere near Alonshole but he has lost my respect. If this guy really believes this crap he is spewing then he deserves to have everyone hate him. I dont want to see jackazzes like him drive for our team SF. I hope now he never comes to Ferrari. Looks like another guy who will say anything to win a world championship. Is there anyone with morals out there?

+1. I think he is good, but no Schumi, Senna, Clark, etc. He needs to come down from his high horse.

Are you talking about last week at the Italian GP? I was out of town for a few days, and could not read this forum, so I don;t know if others posted about it. I thought I was the only one who thought that way. Whiner Hamilton comes in too hot on the outside, misses the braking point, turns in late, smokes his tires, touches the car inside (Kimi, I think), them drives through the apex into position. No penalty because he was "touched?" Hell, he CAUSED the contact. It was a bush league move, and I never saw any comment about it.

Glad to see someone else noticed.

Does anyone think Alonso will feel differently if he were to take the Championship? Would any driver who scored the points to win the title feel any differently? Hamilton feels he's a victim of circumstance and all he's done is drive the car on race weekends.

Of course, he's wrong about the championship not being tainted, but I wouldn't expect him to admit that it is.

At one time I thought he was special but quickly realized he is:
    1. riding on the magic carpet of a very fast and reliable McLaren
    2. Benefiting from Alonso's efforts and setup
    3. as good but not better than others such as Robert Kubica

...I hated it, and I quoted that pass "A LA MONTOYA"...then again, he repeated it with Alonso in SPA...only this time he was on the outside...what does he expect Alonso to do...MOVE OVER?

...Hammilton was in this as deep as Alonso was, only thing is Alonso is stupid enough to write mails, and send text messages...
either way...both cars benefited from Ferrari specs...or will they inflate Hamiltons tires with his stratospheric heluim ego?

And Alonso wouldnt give a damn as long as he´s the Champion. He already left that cristal clear with his "F1textmessages-stephney-assitance"...the end justifies it all for him...
Chris Dyer was stabing him with his eyes while the champagne was flying around on the podium...wonder why?

The only was this season can be saved is by having a legitimate winner in the WDC. That means the winner would have to be from a team other than the McChearter team. That would mean with 3 races left that Kimi will have to be given way by Massa as Kimi has the better chance. If Kimi wins the WDC...He will be a bigger champion than normal because he and Ferrari will have overcome highly unusual odds against a cheating team. It would make Alonsholes' last 2 WDC look like a gift. As much as I am not a Kimi fan because of his lack of work ethics and his uncanny ability to drink before a race I have to admit that he looked good on the weekend past and above all actually looked like he enjoyed himself. GO KIMI GO!!!! Massa...Do whatever it takes to boost Ferraris chances for the WDC!!!

Agreed, the only way the championship this season can not be tainted is if Ferrari wins both points wise when disregarding the loss of constructors points for McLaren. I can understand Hamilton's statement as he has worked hard to be where he is, it's just sad that he can't understand he is in a car that has been developed illegally.

I have a lot of respect for Lewis Hamilton, but this statement is pure BS.

All the drivers and team members on all of the F1 teams have worked hard this year, so why should that give Hamilton and/or McLaren a special entitlement to the title?

McLaren is the only team proven to cheat, so how could a championship for any of their drivers this year NOT be tainted?

He just wants the WDC badly. Really badly. He knows what he's saying is trite. The thread subject title is spot-on.

I see your point, but did Michael Schumacher ever say that his world championship with Bennetton was tainted when he deliberately crashed into Damon Hill in the last race of the season? Not to my knowledge.

The team has done nothing wrong? Is that why they were found guilty of spying and fined 50 Million lbs? What an idiot. I really like Hamilton and I understand that he doesn't want anyone to downplay his accomplishments this year, but damn he needs a reality check. Too much time fighting with idiot alonso maybe has turned him into an ass hole lol...

    What are you? Poor-man's-advocate?
What the McCheater's drivers did is very much like doping on the Olimpics. If anyone gets caught using illegal substances on the Olimpics they don't disqualify his team - they throw him out. Same thing should have happened with Alonshole and the Hamster.
And by the way pulling the race card is a really cheap shot. Nevermind I didn't even see any racial remarks.
