    Given McLaren's prodigious reliability record, it's a safe bet, barring an accident, that they will most likely complete all the remaining races. If that's the case, shouldn't the Scuderia now effect team orders for the last 3 races ? With crossed fingers and a knock on mahoghany, let's say Ferrari has 100% reliability...If they finished the way they did at Spa..then;

    KR 84 PTS. +10 +10 +10 = 114 PTS.
    FM 77 PTS. +8 +8 +8 = 101 PTS.
    FA 95 PTS. +6 +6 +6 = 113 PTS.
    LH 97 PTS. +5 +5 +5 = 112 PTS.

Massa can't win WDC if McLaren continue to finish races as he maxes out @ 107 points, even if he won the next 3.

Ironically, Alonso could be the Tifosi's best friend under these circumstances. At this point, he'd much prefer a Ferrari driver take the WDC rather than LH, if, of course, he couldn't win it himself. He's not about to let LH by at any race, regardless of team orders and that could be crucial. I believe RD's primary orders to LH right now are to stay the hell away from Fernando, cruise at Fuji and wait for others to self destruct....

I think we've already seen that today. Massa almost slipped and said it at the press conference but said instead that he just couldn't pass Kimi.
He should support Kimi from now on because his chances are basically over.

Massa will have to back Kimi now as that will be their only chance. If Alonshole had taken Lewis and himself out today it would have been funny. Still 3 races and anything can happen. I really dont want to see Alonshole win another cheap championship like the one in 05. This guy make me sick now.

    Thanks for this input.

If LH were to get the +6 +6 +6 = 115. No Ferrari driver could catch him.

FA would not abide by team orders unless it put him in the #1 position IMVHO. Would Lewis listen to RD? I hope he would go for the championship. It's going to be an interesting last 3 races.

(the two retirements by each Ferrari driver is what has really hurt this season. McL has none.)

i would rather ask Phil to 'protect' and be a number 2 to Kimster this last 3 races. it's the only logic thing to do.

Well, if Ferrari takes the WDC anyway, it would support Ron's claims that McLaren never used Ferrari data to gain advantage.

I really can't see either McLaren driver paying attention to team orders, at this point. (And remember that team orders are against FIA rules, too. ... For all that's worth.)

I don't really see Ferrari having all that much chance to take the WDC, without a couple of DNFs from McLaren. The scuderia has managed three 1-2 finishes total in 14 events. Asking for three more in three races is wishful thinking. Especially as Fuji isn't supposed to favor the red cars. (But Bridgestone will be guessing which compounds will work best there, so the car that can run well on both prime and options may have an edge, if the tires aren't spot on.)

I'm guessing that whichever Ferrari driver takes pole (or best Q2 time) will determine who runs for the win and who protects. Other than pit strategies, of course. (Remember France?)

well, we might get a chance. hopefully, Fred will try harder next time to take himself and Hammi out :D...especially that Fuji has a very very tight 1st corner like La Source ;)

Let's just say Massa is leading at Fuji with KR 2nd, Alonso 3rd and LH 4TH ...2 laps to go.. .Would Phil let Kimi by ? With team orders, definitely. Without .....????? I don't believe so.
As DGS mentioned, it's time to watch McLaren's pits for unusual activity..

One difference I'd like to see:

    KR 84 PTS. +10 +10 +10 = 114 PTS.
    FM 77 PTS. +8 +8 +8 = 101 PTS.
    LH 97 PTS. +6 +5 +5 = 113 PTS.
    FA 95 PTS. +5 +6 +6 = 112 PTS.

It would be fun to watch crybaby Alonso have a meltdown after losing the Championship AND finishing behind his teammate :)

    Option I'd like to see
    KR-10+10+8=112
    FM-8+8+10(Brazil)=103
    LH-0+0+0=97
    FA-0+0+0=95

Hopefully BMW finds some speed and can pass the McCheaters or, Toro Rosso and Spyker remember where they get their engines from and cause an "accident".

    How about these "team orders"?

Todt tells Scuderia Toro-Rosso-Ferrari (or whatever they want to call themselves these days) to "wheel rim" FA or LH (take your pick) into the marbles/guard rail/wall/Bernie E (again take your pick).

Scott Speed would have been perfect for the job.

Usually thats the Spyker/Super Aguri's job, and we don't even have to ask them to do it :D. People were contemplating last year who was going to take out Alonso in Brazil, unfortunately it was the other way around and Schumi got "taken out" of the race.

Too bad Sato doesn't race for any of Ferrari's customer teams. The Kamikaze Kid would probably do that normally without having to be asked!

Hmm .... if Alonso is headed back to Renault, and Fisi has nothing to lose, ...

Nah, the Renaults couldn't get close enough to Hamilton (except maybe when being lapped). ;)
