thought of dropping by yr place for part II but having a splitting headache now so can't join u & Khips for the night. Is there good nasi lemak in Yishun?

I had a sumptous dinner @ Simpang Bedok. This place serves good international food, drinks & dessert for hawker price! Probably one of the most organised Malay stall as well, staffs wore T-shirts labelled as crew & orders are entered via touch-screen computer! This is where I first heard/had Milo dinosuar & Godzilla! :)

Yeah, that reminds me. The doc put on his latex gloves before touching the victim & to be frank I was a little hesitant when lifting the bike as his body was in the most awkward position & didn't want to do further damage. Hope he's not too badly injured as I left when the doc attended to him.

The rest should just help to direct traffic instead of watching "ER" on the bus stop.

yeah, saw the car too. asking $770k, owner apparently only drove for 1,000km and decided this gallardo ain't for him.

Lung, tell me more about why you are off Lambo. I am seriously considering a switch to the "darkside", not just because i was misrepresented and sold and lemon or the hassles of getting the car in order. i heard Lambos are more reliable (at least the Gallardo), more practical (again the Gallardo), and in my opinion, looks sleeker too (but the Gallardo looks small). The scissors doors on the Murcie is definitely a strong appeal, just need to get over the size and blind spots (planning to visit ES to get a definitive answer on this).

Interested to hear the views of a true sports car enthusiast before i trade in my wheels.

when in law school (i am sure there are practicing lawyers here, so excuse me if i confuse the ratio decidendi from the obiter dictum) i read cases of potential liability when helping victims. it's sad but in certain circumstances, those of a certain profession may have a higher standard of care when assisting others... Singapore being kiasu, that might be a contributing factor......

Screw that. When u see a dying person, u don't sit & watch. I don't think 90% of any crowd know they'd get sued for helping victims including me.

It's just plain idle & life's too good here. I see more helping hands in other countries, esp developing ones.

Have to agree Jon; my first thought would be to help where I could. Shouldn't it be natural instinct to assist someone in need .. at least that's the way I was raised.

That's an expensive experience but I'd agree you can never tell if the car is suitable with just one or few test drives since you're always accompanied by an enthusiastic passenger on restricted routes. Especially a sports car of this nature.

Do remember the 5-figure transfer fees & higher interest rate for used cars.

LONDON - PUNK pioneers the Sex Pistols are reuniting for a concert to mark the 30th anniversary of their only album, 'Never Mind the Bollocks'.
All four original members - John Lydon, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock - will play a one-off concert at London's Brixton Academy in Nov 8, the band announced on the music Web site www.nme.com.

The Pistols, who once sang there was 'No Future', split in 1978 but reformed in 1996 and played together again in 2003. Last year they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Led by sneering frontman Lydon - then known as Johnny Rotten - the Pistols shocked many Britons with raucous singles including 'God Save The Queen', 'Anarchy In The UK' and 'Pretty Vacant'.

Released in 1977, 'Never Mind the Bollocks' is now regarded as one of the most influential albums in rock history. It will be re-released to mark the anniversary.

Bassist Sid Vicious, who replaced Matlock during the band's period of greatest notoriety and became a punk icon, died of a drug overdose in 1979. -- AP

Jon - I'm with you on this one. Very surprised at the reaction (or lack there-of). My first instinct is always to help. I had believed that if ever faced with a situation like this that others would proactive assist. Your comments make me this otherwise, which is saddening.

F430 in TdF looks nice, but not as nice as Nart (my fav) or Ponzi IMHO. - :)

There is a new color called Abu Dhabi Blue. I've seen the color palette in the fles and it is really interested.

Vex, wierd. My CAR magazine has a slightly different cover. Still the "baby" McLaren, but a full rear shot, not half-way as yours is. It is not as cluttered as yours either on the rest of the page. Mine says "Subscriber Edition" on the top right and I wonder if that accounts for the difference?

BTW fellas, just returned from an AMAZING trip to Italy where wifey and I scoured the Italian roads in a F430 Spider and Coupe. Drives were amazing, as was the exploration. Organized by www.red-travel.com.

    Highly recommended!

Pics and full write-up shall be provided over the weekend.

    My comments in point form:
    1. I don't think Lambos are any more reliable than a modern day Ferrari.
    2. My F430, CS, testa, 355 were all everyday cars ...but so was my lambo. Both marques are as practical as you want it to be.
    3. Looks are subjective... so its a matter of taste. i enjoy the looks of both marque's current models.
    4. I prefer the drive of the ferrari as it doesn't feel heavy, its definitely more nimble and you can throw the car around alot more. Just point and squirt.
    5. It doesn't mean that the Gallardo is no good. Its very sure footed at speed on the dry and on the wet. It grips very well around corners. The car is heavy though. The interior furnishing is very well put together. However some people say its not original coz its straight out of an Audi but I don't mind it.
    6. I like the sound of the Ferrari better... more aggressive, very racy ...ready to pounce. But again this is my personal preference in sound.
    7. Some people like the gear shifting of the Gallardo more than the F430... I am of the other view... I find the shifting of the Ferrari smoother and more accurately timed (don't know how to explain)... yes the ferrari is less aggressive on the down shift but that saves on clutch wear.
    8. Honestly I like both cars...but when I say I am off Lambo its coz I've just done the Gallardo thing nothing more than that. I find the Mucie a little too big for my taste and the SL not convincing enough as a track/light weight car.
8.5. Brakes... definitely Ferrari... It has better feel. The Gallardo brakes may come across as spongy and not as direct i.e. you squeeze the brakes and nothing happens...then suddenly it bites. Not progress in my opinion.
    9. Dealership experience: HSM vs Eurosports...thats a tough one. My view is this: ES treats everyone the same... meaning they treat everyone very well. Whether you buy a new or used Lambo you get a similar experience. HSM has a different philosophy... you are treated according to whether u buy new, used, returning buyer, Maserati or Ferrari buyer, history with HSM, etc. Its like Singapore Airlines... you have Solitaire, PPS, 1st class, Business, or economy. So to say which one is better depends on who you speak to. If you speak to a Ferrari owner who has bought 5 cars from HSM...he will say he always gets the best service from HSM. Both ES and HSM have always been good to me...so no complaints from me.

Hope this helps ur decision making...

Lung you have made so many great posts and your pictures from the 430S launch were fantastic. But this comment made me LOL. SL is an overweight pork chop boulevard cruiser that does not even merit mention with the others!

    Thanks for the news.

Hope this is just a one-off, and not another ill-fated money-grabbing attempt at a reunion. Matlock may have written some of the Pistols' best known songs, but he wasn't around during their most successful (& notorious) period. As far as I'm concerned, the Pistols 'died' when Sid died, and they should have called it quits then. BTW, another 'old school' (boy, I hate the term) UK band was in town recently - The Stranglers - at SingFest. Wanted to go see them as they were one of my faves back then, but when I found out that original singer Hugh Cornwall was no longer in the band, decided to give it a miss.
