Marcel, Good to have you around here to help identify some of the cars. I know 55163 went to Hans-Albert Zender when new, but does he still own it? Amazingly I have come across over a dozen (Im sure there are more) 288 GTOs that are still by the first owner! Speaks to the car I think. Joe www.joesackey.com
Its the 120th 288 GTO built, ordered built fitted with A/C and power windows. Zender started his company in 1969 and runs it with his son now so if he still has the car, what are the chances his son gets it? Id say excellent Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Disagree. Then German importer Auto-Becker delivered 55163 to authorized dealer Zender GmbH on 28 March 1985. On September 24, 1985, the car was registered new on German license plates "BIR-V 96" for first owner, Hans-Juergen Wayand GmbH of Idar-Oberstein, Germany. In 1986 the car was returned to Zender. Hans-Albert Zender then had it re-registered on German plates "MYK-AZ 308". MYK = German license plate abbreviaton for the Mayen-Koblenz district. Later on it was used on dealer plates "MYK-06002". In July 2007 the car was featured in the German car mag "Motor Klassik" using German license plates "MYK-AZ 555". Although this is pure speculation I think that from the letters "AZ" in the last known plates it can be deducted that the car still belongs to Mr. (Hans-)Albert Zender (the second owner). Marcel Massini
So the actual first owner was Hans-Juergen Wayand and Zender was simply the first selling dealer of the car who then took it back a year later and kept it if I understand you. Thanks for the info Marcel. Joe www.joesackey.com

Joe, do you have that photo in higher resolution? That background with the powerfull GTO looks very good
He was driving on the autobahn. It was reported in the print media and images exist of the car still ablaze. The owner just walked away and there is a picture of his wife consoling him in a German newspaper so I assume it happened there. Joe www.joesackey.com

This is the only GTO I have seen in real life. Even though the quality of the pictures suck (taken from behind the glass at the Kroymans dealership) I still wanted to share them. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is more interesting. This Evo was spotted in Rotterdam by my dad. This is the only picture I've seen of it while it was in the Netherlands.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe, keeping with the Canadian GTO theme ....I should share with you my failed Canadian GTO 288 thread LOL. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124638&highlight=288+GTO I say failed more as a joke. But as you can imagine a rare car like this will only be more rare in Canada. Here are some cool pictures from fellow f-chatters and a couple of "Canadian" GTO's. The old showroom shots were taken by f-chatter AndruitBiche of Luigi's personal GTO (Formerly Ferrari Toronto - Gentry Lane). This was the Canadian delivered 1Km car that was recently sold at RM's Marenello auction. Then there is a shot of it on his old driveway. I like that shot because its soo casual. The other recent colour shots where by our awesome photgrapher Stephan who shot these at a Montreal event last year of L.S's GTO. You can also see L.S's GTO at his very own Ferrari dealer in Montreal. Enjoy... Only 3 outings this year......perhaps my wife's right that I love to work far too much! Thanks to those the likes of Marcel Massini and Steve Hill, I have a fantastic 288GTO, a true Claifornia BAR car, with 6000 kms , right here in the GLA (Greater London Area)....I am trying to put pics on here but can't seem to get it to work. I am currently building a house with a large suite for the GTO and F40, with pleasant overlooking forest views for them in the winter. It is actually a replica room to one I saw on this site, and will take photos when done. Image Unavailable, Please Login
