Going through the Ferrari car configurator I stumbled on a colour I never heard of or seen before - Blu Abu Dhabi. Anyone got pics of cars in this colour? Seemed interesting in the configurator...

PS Anyone know when it was introduced? And also where did the name come from? I'm guessing the investor from Abu Dhabi that has some shares in Ferrari pushed this through, right?

That's the new light blue metallic color on the 430 Scuderia.

Are you sure? It doesn't look like that in the configurator: http://www.configurator.ferrariowners.com/
But maybe that's because it's a computer animation?

Hmm....it does look a bit darker in the configurator, but that is what my dealer told me. He could be mistaken ofcourse.

Reconfirmed.....the above picture IS the Abu Dhabi Blue.

The configurator is slightly off due to computer animation.

I'd say quite a bit more than "slightly".. the configurator one looks much darker - I wanted to see what that looked like. Of course the one on the 430 is very nice, but the configurator colour seemed much more interesting.

The samples must be really off, because they do not look alike.

I thought the 430S car was one of the historic colours - Azzuro Met?

Oh wow I love that Ferrari is using some colors they used in the 50s and 60s. Seeing the 599 in Blue Scozia is like a dream. Also the 430 coupe in Argento Nurburgring ain't bad either!

To add to the confusion, I remember reading that the Frankfurt Scuderia is in Avio Met (being one of the historic colors) ;)

oh, that's right, I read something about it being one of the historic colours. Maybe your dealer got it wrong?

My dealer got it wrong. The color on the F430 Scuderia above is Avio Metallic.

    Hey Guys,

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to pull it back up as there is quite a bit of misleading info on the site. After a few months, I finally got it all figured out :)

Here are samples & Young Jeezy video...

The color of the F430 in the video , I believe, has been mistakened to be Mirabeau. Mirabeau is close, but I dont think it is accurate...

Here are samples of Mirabeau. If you compare the color of the cars with direct sunlight, you should be able to see a noticeable difference. I personally feel Blu Abu Dhabi gives a richer and more impressive blue under direct sunlight. Im sure at night, both colors will looks fairly similar.

Those F430s are not Blu Abu Dhabi, those are different blues, Blu Abu Dhabi is a brand new color for the California.

The pictures I pulled are from classified ad on a UK site with the title, "Blu Abu Dhabi F430"

I can't think of any other blue it could be.

That's my car. Believe me, it looks exactly like the car in the video in person under direct sunlight.

It is hard to say. The UK pics look like they were taken on an overcast day. My car generally looks darker than the GMG pics, but the color really reacts to light changes. My initial thought was that the UK car looks like TDF blue, but now I think it might be Mirabeau. Here are some pics of my car out of direct sunlight, the first few are under florescent light. You'll see what I'm talking about with the color changing - it looks completely different from the pics you posted earlier from GMG.
