What Alonso did was total horsesh$t, i couldn't believe my ears when i first heard it. There is nothing that anyone can say to justify that. Now is that necessarily bad for F1, i don't know. If nothing else it has brought a lot of attention to the sport and kept it interesting. Nothing is better for ratings than drama. Now on to your point, MS was good for Ferrari, but he always thought of himself first and foremost. He clearly did not want a strong teammate and built the team to be a one horse operation. All this "he raced for the team" is BS. As soon as he was threatened with a strong teammate (Kimi) he goes and retires. Real team player there. He didn't want Irvine to win the title in 99 and only came back because he was made to. I don't need the sports section to know what's going on with either McLaren or Alonso. Perhaps YOU should look back on your history before you post your drivel on here, rookie. Alonso wanted what MS had. He was gonna get it but LH proved to be quite formidable. Ron Dennis lets his drivers race for the most part and doesn't do contractual number one drivers like Ferrari did for MS. Alonso has acted like a b*tch all season long and if i understand right, according to RD he made the threat during the problem at Hungary. He then took it all back, but Ron called the FIA anyway. Not my story, that's according to Ron Dennis. Now do I want Alonso at Ferrari? Nope, did I write the story? Nope again. If LDM wants Alonso on the team there isn't a damned thing you or I or anyone can do to stop him unless your a close personal adviser to him. Alonso may be a Richard noggin but he's the best driver on the grid right now. He'll be just the push that Kimi needs to step his game up and would probably win a title with them. It would crack me up to see how the haters react if LDM did sign him up.
Here is all I have to say............ AGAIN! Alonshole together with the Hamster should have gotten the same as the rest of the McCheaters. Everyone knows that. The couple of trolls here together with the other two (I actually believe all 4 of them are actually only 2 people) can GO SWIVEL to quote one of your own. Then AGAIN some moderator, please trow the Ferrari haters out of here or just somehow make them to shut to *@#& up. All they are doing here is shortening our lifes with their nonsense crap, and instigating arguments non relevant with the title thread. Not to mention all the constant use of profanity and extremely offensive comments towards all sorts of people and groups. We come here to share our passion for the mark we love and the sport we enjoy. We don't come here to be called names, be made fun of or listen to Ferrari bashing and Alonshole and McCheater propaganda.
Luis-I see your point-in the cockpit FA's great but outside the cockpit he has some issues. As I said, a WDC won this year by a McLaren driver will have the stench of the scandal on it. As for MS, we all have our opinions on him-as opinions they are neither right nor wrong. Strong teammate? MS never had one, but looking at the atmosphere in the McLaren garage, even before the scandal went full blown, it's clear why MS never wanted a strong teammate, and FA clearly has major issues with having a strong teammate-you think RD and the team are happy? I see him at Renault next year with HK....
Paul, I used to like Alonso but what he did is unforgivable. He's really turned a lot of people off. In the car, however the man is magic. RD has tried to downplay the whole ratting out to the FIA thing. If there is anyone i genuinely feel bad for it's he and his team. However people trying to say that MS always drove for the team and was always moral is silly. Either people don't understand MS's history with Ferrari or they justify it in their own minds. MS was just as bad, as was Senna, Mansell and many others if they didn't get their own way with the team. Now would anyone else go that far, I don't know. Alonso really hit a new low with this one.
Luis-do you think FA's with McLaren next year? I think RD will devote himself to defeating FA-even if he's in a McLaren.....
Not a chance, Alonso is as good as gone. RD's stated a few times he's not going to retire. I think If Alonso is gone to another team and with maybe Nico in the 2nd car he might just stick around a bit longer. That's if Mercedes doesn't take the team over fully and oust him. I doubt that will happen either. Can you really imagine Ron Dennis retired? He'd drive his poor wife nuts....
Think what you want racer as will I, and if drama was so great for F1, then tell that to McLaren and see if they agree with you...
I was praying for their licenses to be pulled !! Prost and Senna were arseholes for the stunts they pulled to "win" their WDC by running into each other and then the Senna crowd goes all wild when MS did it to JV - hypocrites
Luis, I don't understand why you have any sympathy for Ron Dennis as it relates to Alonso. At Hungary, Ron set the qualifying programme that would give Fernando the same advantage through qualifying that the team gave Hamilton at the British GP. Lewis then disobeyed the orders and screwed Fernando at the beginning of Q3, and understandably Fernando got upset and held up Hamilton in the pits. However, the fact that Ron Dennis did NOTHING to discipline his golden boy Lewis for starting the whole thing is what pushed Fernando to threaten Ron with the emails the morning of the Hungary GP. I don't like what Fernando did either but don't feel bad for Ron Dennis; his unwillingness to discipline Lewis for violating team orders was what triggered the latest episode of the soap opera.
Every team has done some stupid thing here and there... who cares, your original comment was Alonso in 08... I said no... nuff said...
oh I didn't say MS wasn't a jerk for doing that, just that some here have selective memories when remembering past "heroes", for all their genius they still had failings btw I liked how 'our Nige' drove, but the whining didn't stop when he turned the engine off, drove the Ferrari mechanics nuts !!
I agree completely; but face it, there are a lot of others here who have the same selective memories about MS and it drives me nuts. LOL I agree about Nigel; maybe that's why I also like Fernando (despite the stupid **** he does). In the car they are both as cool as the other side of the pillow. Outside the car...........hmmmm maybe they should both just live in the car.
Alonso going to Ferrari to replace Massa would make Ferrari nearly unbeatable. It would also include what we all want to see anyway...Alonso vs. Kimi. Of course, it might be a neutron bomb. The problem with Alonso is that regardless of how many people hate him - he is probably the best tactician in F1 and nearly the best speed. He cares more about winning than any other driver on the grid. He does it all except run into other cars...
Mccheaters is an horrible place to stay, you must thinck about Fernando´s situation, he has done a perfect job at Mccheaters, the car was **** and at the moment is relable and the fastets, don´t you thinck that Fernando has something to do with this? after all his efforts Ron decided to pull his pupil Hamilton and give him more support ( a rookie was consider at the same level as a 2times world champion) after all this, all Fernando´s carregulations have been copied by Hamilto, HOW WOULD YOU FEEL??? I understand Fernando´s humor, he has been used by Mccheaters in order to support Hamilton and make the car driveable. AT THE MOMENT HE IS THE BEST, M.SHUMACHER WASN´T EITHER A SAINT.
IMHO he's the best, so he should drive a Ferrari. Alonso in red would be a dream come true, and would ensure WCC and WDC titles for Ferrari. Raikonnen would fight him, but he would never cheat and whine like Hamilton.
OK, you only need to look back one season to Toyota and -as is being divulged at the moment- Renault. That's so recent, you can't even call it history. Look back even further and we have the founding of the March team, etc. etc. etc. Doesn't take a whoile lot of research to prove your statement wrong. in fact, I didn't have to do any, this was just off the top of my head. I am certain with a little digging, we can find many more such incidents.
Lucky is right!!! We don't want to actually debate issues or exchange opinions. NO!!!!!!! We want to repeat the same pedantic sycophantic paeons to Ferrari over and over again!!!!! Please censor opinions now!!!!!!!!
No way. Damon showed poor judgement thinking he could have that corner without Schumacher objecting, the world title being directly at stake and all. It was never going to be his corner. He probably could´ve gotten by on the Brabham straight, but it wasn´t to be. Thankfully so, since Damon would´ve been an unworthy champion anyway.
Seriously. I'm stunned at people's responses. Their hate for Alonso actually surpasses their love for Ferrari. That would mean the are Alonso haters first, and Ferrari lovers second - right?
I feel bad for Ron because of what this has done to tarnish the reputation of the team he has built. All he was trying to do was let his drivers race. I'm talking about the whole season as a whole, not so much the incident at Hungary. There is blame to go all the way around in that incident.
