Its been in europe... like forever. Time to go back to the U.S... Hahaha...
I'm actually pretty upset that P4/5 wasn't stomping all over Rome when I was here...

Jim, a technical question; how did you get it to the Targa Florio; truck or drive? and how did you find the event as a whole?

    Best,
    Max

EDIT: P.S. What influenced the revised shape of the snorkels?

The new tips turned out great!!! They fit the flow of the car much better than the old round ones. :)

Trucked to the Targa but I did drive her from Villa d'Est down to the Factory and then back to PF for her service, about 400 miles. She'll be heading home next week.

The Targa is a FANTASTIC event.

The Exhausts are now shaped like the 2003 FI outlets which I've always liked. They seem to flow better as well.

Jim, in the caption for the P4/5 with the newly added exhaust tips (which look great, I'll add), you mention that they "sound incredible." Was anything changed in the exhaust system besides the tips?...

As they flow better they also sound better. We've also installed an "OFF ROAD" switch in the cockpit which by passes the muffler but not the cats which sounds like someone has "cried havoc and let slip the Dogs of War..."

Thanks for the clarification. It would be great to see a video or hear the difference between the two exhaust modes at some point. Having a switch for the mood or particular environment at hand is pretty neat. Similar to Capristo Twin Level 2 or the Kreis-seig exhausts.

In the open position it's pretty loud. Sal said when they drove it around the PF test track it emptied the buildings...

The new exhausts look amazing! Why did you get rid of the rain light though?

Rain light still looks like it's in place...

New tips look great. What other things did you have done in this shakedown? Will you get more things getting done as you find them problematic, or is this pretty much "done"?

Quite a bit. We took out rattles, changed vent seals to eliminate wind noise, found a bolt that was rolling around in the fuel tank area from when she was manufactured, rearranged switch gear, changed the wiper system, simple refinements. I think we're done for a while.

Love the new exhausts Jim, great decision. Disappointed I won't get to see it again at the Americana Concours this year though. ;)

By the way, I caught you and P4/5 for a second while watching the show "Monterey Week" on DiscoveryHD. I think the footage is a couple years old...

Can't be a couple years old, seeing as the car was only officially released the August of 06. ;)

    Thanks for the update Jim.

You're right...good call. A show that came on after it documented the RM Auction in Monterey from 2005, so that's why I thought that.

I'm curious, has Sergio commented on the car? I searched the thread but I couldn't find anything.

    Hey thats my model!! :)
I gave plenty of people permision to convert the 3d model to many games. Thats a pretty cheesy conversion of it although. And they deffinetly dont have the newer version with the new exhaust and other updates!! Only I do hehe.

I have posted the model in the thread here long ago, I started on it before the actual P 4/5 was publicly shown.
