    Hello Everybody!

After browsing through many forums on the WWW, in regards to Ferraris, and especially late 70's / early '80's 2+2 Ferraris, I have found this forum the most informative, and above all friendliest. I will take this opportunity to introduce myself. My father and I have always been Ferrari enthusiasts. I have worked in the prestige car industry, and we have both worked on race cars during our lives.

Early this year, we purchased our first piece of Italian motoring history. After much searching, and researching we finally found a 1980 Ferrari 400i GT RHD with 54,000miles. We purchased this car in late January, from the 2nd owner in Scotland, and have had it in Australia for the last two months. I have only driven this car a few times, and every time I jump into the drivers seat, I have to forcefully remove myself. It is an absolute joy to drive, and I love every second of it. It really is true what people say; you REALLY can sense the pedigree!

We also purchased a 1978 400 Auto, which had severe accident damage (that is an interesting tale in itself!), which is in the process of being restored.

We have also just recently purchased a 365 2+2 (Unsure of year model), which should be arriving within the next 6 to 8 weeks, along with another Ferrari 400 which is coming without running gear, suspension etc. Our contact in the UK managed to find us a 1997 456GT which had a rather heavy front impact, and we plan to put nearly everything from the 456GT into the third 400 body shell.

If other members are interested, I can start a topic detailing all the work that will be undertaken with this car. I'm sure you'll find me asking a lot of questions about various parts of both cars, and If I can share some knowledge, I suppose its all for the best!

I've also got some photos to share If anyone would like to see them.

    Thanks, Andrew

    Welcome aboard Andrew!

I look forward to hearing about your adventures!

By the way, there is a sizable (relatively) contingent of OZ V-12 Ferrari types on www.tomyang.net their stuff may be older than yours but you may find some good insight as many there do their own work as well.

    Regards,

    Art S.

    Some pics of the 400GT:

The photos I have of the other 400 are very poor, I will take some in the next week or so. Ditto for the 365 2+2 and the 400 body shell, I will take photos when they arrive in 6/8 weeks.

On a different note, does anyone know where I can find some suspension bushes for the front. I have a complete set for the rear, but still require a set for the front of the car. I have new shocks and springs to go into the car, and really don't want to do the same job twice!

    Andrew.

No, we don't live in Kangaroo's pouches :p

Reminds me of the last time I was in the USA, I told some random that Koala's roamed the streets with loaded machine guns. The car now has vanity registration plates, being ' 400 GT '. Those registration plates in the photos on the vehicle at the time, just didnt 'look right'. We would have ideally liked to keep the UK plates on the vehicle, but thats the law!

    Andrew :)

The front bushes are available from dealers and I am sure some of the non-dealer suppliers. The lowers are one piece. The uppers are several pieces and usually only the inner metal bush wears; the pieces are sold separately. The Teflon-coated side pieces should be okay.
