Go to photos of 1964-65 1512 & 158 GP cars on page 131 of this thread:

Of course John Surtees is simple. Mauro Forghieri is crouching next to him. Mauro designed the 12 cylinder 1512, the first boxer V-12 and went on to become head of engineering (or something like that). Anyone know what his position was in 1964-65 with the Scuderia? I don't know if I ever did.

To all of those that don't know Monte (TheBreadvan) also owned this beautiful Formula One for many years and only recently sold it. Monte was an excellent custodian of both cars and a true enthusiast. I like to believe that I helped him acquire the 1512 and have always had a special fondness for it.

Next to the Lancia-Ferrari (and the original Lancia version with the seperate side pods), that is my favorite Ferrari F1 car. I especially like the NART blue and white paint scheme.

Great photos - I wonder whether Graham Hill was not in the car in the Watkins Glen 1964 photo (last minute mens room visit maybe), or whether he was sat there just about to pull on his helmet.

In the first 1975 photo, Ermano Cuoghi is working on the gearbox - he was previously with many other teams, including John Wyer and also the American-owned Scirrocco-Powell F1 team in 1963............who coincidentally used a very similar colour scheme to the NART colours on the Ferrari 158 of Surtees in the 1964 photo................
