Surfing the web and came across this fcar dealership in Washington, DC. After surfing and researching thru there website, sounds like one of the nicest dealerships iv read about or searched online. Really seems like its ran by true, exotic car enthuisists that have a passion for cars and want everyone to be fortunate enough to share it. Who knows how the dealership really is in person, but if I was in the market for a car, they would be at the top of my list!

It really is great dealership. I go up about 2 or 3 times a year and have been treated great every time. I can usually talk someone into taking the time to take me into the service section. They may be a bit pricey but in the next 10 years or so when I am ready to buy it will be the first place I look. Check out some of the threads in the MAR section.

The dealership is owned by Mr. Allie Ash who is just as you described. He is an enthusiast having a nice collection of his own cars and is known to race them in the Challenge Series as well as the Historic Challenge Series. Allie has been a Ferrari dealer for quite some time. FOW is definately worth considering for either a visit or for your next Ferrari purchase.

    Will,
Your post shows a great quality of a real Ferraristi. Instead of touting the benefits of your delaership you simply add to the good information about Ferrari of Washington. I haven't been to Shelton since the 80's, but maybe one of these days I'll get over there.

I am actually in DC right now. Don't have much to do this weekend, so I think I will pop by there. Maybe pick up a hat or shirt for my pre-ferrari purchase. :)

You should head over to Baltimore (Little Italy) for the Concorso Italia de Little Italy (Balto.)

    Sunday starting at 10am.

There will be about 80 Ferraris/Lambos The event is being put on by FCA.

There is no cost to spectate.

    Thanks man appreciate it!

I initially posted a review of my visit to this dealership, but upon further thought, I decided to pull it. No need to create any drama. I will just state that I was not that impressed.

I did take the opportunity to head over to BMW of Sterling. These were the guys that screwed me over on a BMW purchase last year. I never met them in person. I finally got to see who these knuckleheads were. I had a conversation with the actual person who screwed me, and introduced myself. He knew exactly who I was. After some choice words I was asked to leave. :)

I don't think I would would include all the staff at Shelton as "class act" material. I've had a lot of disappointing interactions with some of the people there. Persoanlly I would not trust them any more than most used car salespeople. More on par with Mazda salespeople than some of the folks I've have come into contact with at Fof CF, Fof A, and some other Ferrari dealers.

Just curious how long Mr. Ash has owned the DC dealership? When my wife I were there about 8 years ago the sales people were very rude. They couldn't seem to be bothered to interact with the customers. Didn't want to answer questions, etc. The secretary was quite nice though! They were the complete opposite of Shelton and FCF at the time.

If what you are describing is true, then not much has changed from 8 years ago with regards to the DC Dealership.

I certainly can't comment on your personal experience with Shelton Ferrari; however, I can say that it surprises me. My own experience – and that of many acquaintances – is that Shelton has exceptionally professional, expert, and personable salespeople and support staff. Whether it was servicing my 308 GTSi many years ago, or recently purchasing a 2007 F430, they have never failed to go out of their way to be helpful and courteous.

Indeed, leading up to my buying the F430, I spent several years simply hanging around the showroom and talking endlessly about what would be the 'right' car for my next purchase. It didn't matter that I wasn't prepared to buy anything for a while, folks like Benn Correale always had the time to explain the pros and cons of various new and used models – and his candor on the cost of ownership belied any notion that he was anything but objective and scrupulously honest. And he has always taken the time to extend simple but much appreciated courtesies to my wife and young son: A genuine 'class act'!

Joe, it's always possible to catch people at the wrong moment and have such disappointment color one's long-term opinion. But I would encourage you to drop by Shelton Ferrari again and see if you don't discover what many of us have: If you want an honest and professional Ferrari dealership that is staffed with enthusiasts like yourself, Shelton Ferrari is great choice!

That statement I would underwrite as well. Shelton and the people working there are known to go out of their way for customer service. Sometimes I wonder why Will puts up with some of the guys here....I would have sent them to hell long before and he still smiles and services their cars. :)

FoW is as good as it gets. I've been hanging around high performance cars and bikes for 40 years and these guys are tops. They are true enthusiasts and treat people just as you hope to be treated. Without them I know that my 355 would have been traded for a GT3

This was definately not my experience this past weekend. Quite the opposite. Maybe I didn't have an "in". Regardless, I had enough that I didn't even by a t-shirt from them, put it right back on the rack.
