I figure since there is no existing thread for top gear, i would make one...So here it is..Thank you Thank you. I was just watching some shows on the internet and what happened to Mr.Slow, James? Any things you want to discuss regarding top gear can be here. if thats ok with evryone..
I miss Top Gear so much! I know it's on the Brit channel, I believe I can order it through my digital cable provider, but I'm just not sure about the extra money it's going to cost me. I'd almost rather just download the shows from ITV.
I miss Tiff Nedell and his power slides. If anyone gets a chance, watch the north pole challenge. Its an hour long (7 parts) but its great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h482zfGVR4o And the most hilarious top gear challenge EVER is the stretch limo one. I found it hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgK-Vz2xizA EDIT: Start mid part 5 of 6 so see the funny bits driving through town: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMmE7HXNH-M
The stretch limo is good, i love jeremy's at first...My favorite challenge has to be however the kit car, where they had beat the stig by building the kit car as the stig raced to them.
http://www.finalgear.com/ is the site to visit when it comes to Top Gear. Torrent downloads for every episode, no need for crappy youtube videos! Can't wait for October 7, has been far too long since the last series in March Edit: My favourite challenge is the "Italian Supercars For Less Than A Second Hand Mondeo" challenge, best they ever did (beside the US/Polar specials)
I like the Top Gear where they race strange vehicles such as a motor-powered sofa, a parade float and other strange things.
Tiff Nedell is in Fifth Gear, not Top Gear. IMO Fifth Gear is a better show because the personalities in Top Gear are ... over the top.
Sure The torrent file itself just contains information where the actual file you want to have (in our case the Top Gear video) can be downloaded. I don't want to dig too deep into the technology, what you need is a program, so called "client", which uses the data stored in the torrent file to download your video. The best one is in my opinion µTorrent. Small, free, no spyware, download it here: http://download.utorrent.com/1.7.5/utorrent.exe (yes, it's just one .exe file). Start it, maybe you need to change some settings depending on your home network/internet connection. Now download the torrent file from finalgear, open it with µTorrent, you'll be asked where to save your download (-> the video), and there you go!
Top Gear present their stuff in a humorous format where as Fifth Gear are trying to keep a more serious line. They both have their own charm and own ways of presenting the entertainment. The filming of Top Gear is so much better than Fifth Gear's... IMHO Anyway: http://www.topgear.com/content/news/stories/2254/ Top Gear is BACK on October 7th! Audi R8 will go around their track!! Have waited for this. It has delievered blistering track times everywhere and I hope it shows muscles on their track as well.
Appreciate the 'Finalgear' links. Does anyone here have Time Warner Cable? Is Top Gear on any of the stations carried?
Yep, and no. I believe there are older episodes on BBC America, but I don't have that channel. Been downloading Top Gear/Fifth Gear for years because the car shows we have here are terrible.
The shows that are aired internationally are often old episodes. The downloads are out 6-8 hours after the episode have aired in Great Britain.
I thought it was gone also, until I ran across the BBC channel that my local cable company carries---WOO-HOO!! I am watching it right now...
Go to Flickpeek.com, and seach top gear, there are many shows. to watch should keep yo busy for hours..
BBC America (channel 131 in the Orange County lineup for Time Warner Cable.) Playing older episodes of Top Gear - probably about 1 - 2 seasons back. Just saw the episode about the Caravan (RV trailer) misadventure which I believe I saw on YouTube about 1 year back. Bob
Actually, Tiff used to present for Top Gear. The show's been on for ever -- on the show Jeremy used to be trim gent with no grey hairs anywhere!
I miss top gear. I did manage to catch a couple of episodes on the discovery channel. The presenters are over the top but that's the point. British Humour
There's only one TV show on that I always laugh out loud at some point, and it's Top Gear. It's the funniest show on. Ken
