I voted No!
+1! Right there with ya Ron. Except, I would be leaning more towards BMW instead of Toyota....just a pesonal opinion
Agreed Ron. If that bozzo drives for Ferrari next season then I will no longer support the team. A smart driver would go to Toyota as they are due and will soon be running near the front IMO. If Massa was to go there then I may pull for them. But this is all hypothetical as I doubt that Ferrari would hire on a complete whore like alonshole.
I'd support the red car that Alonso isn't in. As for Massa, I'll support any team that he goes to at this point. He's won me over no matter what people say about his skill, he's just a likeable character. I just want more competition. Of course I still want Ferrari on top, but If Alonso is at Ferrari, that leaves virtually no competition anywhere else. I don't like him, but he does put up a fight. If Ferrari signs him, I'll look at that as submission. As if to say, well we couldn't beat him, so we'll join him. I've been saying it for a while now, He needs to go to Toyota. I think his skill, if nothing else will boost that team. We need Honda to step up their game, and Renault needs to start getting things right. Imagine how exciting the season would be if we had a 6 way race, rather than just 2.
how can anyone compare Fred to Mikey Schumi? yes, they're both champions before, but ask yourself this : has Schumi ever complained about the team, t/out those hard times? no. did he complain when the Ferrari engine failed when he was on pole at Magny Cours? no. given the current bad record of the Ferrari reliability, Alonso would come up with stamements like ' i feel alone ', ' the team is not supporting me enough ' etc etc, and all sorta nonsense. yes, he may be the best and the most complete driver on the grid today, but his personality just doesn't suit Ferrari.
very true. i suppose some members on this board are afraid to admit the fact that Massa drove very well this season.
Its not just a no its a hell no!. Thats like getting Dante Stallworth to come play for New England. They might as well grab Ralf from toyota and make him his teamate. Alonzo would be on his way to being probably the biggest bust in F1 if he jumps over to ferrari.
+1 Don't forget in Japan last year, with 12 laps left. Had it been Alonso's engine that blew, he wouldn't have been back in the paddock hugging his mehcanics like Schumi, but rather on a killing spree in his garage lol.
Let me just clarify: I don't entirely care that he's a jerk off-track, or aggressive on track. I prefer "gentlemen drivers" in F1, because I'm a traditionalist. But I accepted Schumi, despite his flaws, because of his incredible car control skill. (Remember Kimi's off track issues when he was with McLunk? I don't remember Schumi or Alonso ever getting falling down drunk on a yatch. ) Alonso was beginning to look good, when he was the young kid gunning for Schumi ... and had a bit of a tire advantage. But over the last 12-14 months, we've seen Alonso facing challenges as the "defending champion", and he just seems to be cracking like cheap glass. The Stepneygate data wasn't just Alonso, but a confident champion wouldn't have been so anxious to get insider information. And trying to use that data to get Ronco to hold back Hamilton was pure desperation. Now we're told that Alonso isn't even talking to Ron. Is this the kind of thing the Scuderia needs? A spoiled vunderkid trying to relive past glory any way he can? And throwing tanrums when the world doesn't spin his way? I think Alonso was a flash in the pan. Maybe a stint in an also-ran car might turn him around. But right now, he's headed for a massive melt-down ... and was extremely lucky not to have lost his super license this year. Unless Alonso gets shock therapy -- perhaps another season as a test driver -- I think we've seen the last of Alonso up front. Since we're talking 2008 and beyond, I have more faith in Massa's future than Alonso's, the way things stand. (Remember how abusive Alonso got when he found out that it wasn't so easy to pass Massa in the rain?)
There have now been over 200 votes in on the poll and over 2/3 of the Tifosi do not want Alonso in a Ferrari. There isnt much more to say that hasnt been said. I believe this to be a fairly accurtate indiction of what Ferrari fans want. I also think that Ferrari is not dumb enough to bring on such an ill tempered man that could destroy their team for years to come. When you look at all the facts it makes no sense at all to hire him. Kimi has surprised me in the last month and looks to be settling in to the team and the lineup they have now could do lots of damage next year if they make the car just a little bit more reliable. Face it Ferrari would have been leading in all catagories if their knowledge had not been used by McCheater. Only a McCheater supporter would refute that. They should have been banned all together this season, team and drivers. If a Ferrari driver were to win the WDC (and Kimi is the only one who now could do it) this season then it would be all that much sweeter. It will be tough though. If Hamilton or Alonshole wins it then an * will always be beside the WDC and would mean very little and they know it.
Alonso is another Alain Prost, he may have one good season at Ferrari, but he will undermine the team at some point. Better to put the backing towards Kimi and let him go for it IMHO. Let him go back to Renault. Alonso IMHO is damaged goods, asking De La Rosa questions about Ferrari's car and than trying to Blackmail his own team when they won't give him #1 STATUS. Hey A$$Wipe earn Number one on the track not through politics. Ferrari does not need him, KR will be fine next season, Mr. Headcase will FUP this team.
Sorry, jumping into this real late. I really want Massa to stay with the team. I think he adds a nice element to the team, and it has been great to watch him grow over the last two years (it appears to me he has grown quite a bit in this short time, from looking at his first races with Ferrari). At first I was not happy about Raikonnen joining Ferrari, but thought he would be able to deliver good results. It is my understanding, although I could be wrong, that he does not contribute much to the team outside of the cockpit, and inside with the development of the car. Additionally, it is noce to see drivers win and actually crack a smile about it, this seems hard for Kimi...for whatever reason. I like to see Massa win because he openly appreciates it, is passionate about it. When Kimi is ON, he is really on, but it seems like he is either hot or cold. I would like to see him around for another year, because he can definitely deliver results, but I also wouldn't mind another driver taking his seat, but not Alonso (wow, I just realized how much I strayed from the topic right now). To answer the question clearly, I want Massa to stay for sure, and Kimi it wouldn't really bother me one way or the other. But I wouldn't want him replaced with Alonso. I would like to see another young driver in his seat, a 1st or 2nd year rookie would be interesting (although maybe not the best solution from a championship-winnng point of view in the short run.
Had this been 1996 I am quite sure that the vast majority of you would have been complaining about Ferrari signing Michael Schumacher. In fact, I am willing to wager that a fair amount of you did.
I don't believe you, brother. You damn near lost your life in a Ferrari, a guy like you doesn't give up your allegience that easily. You will b!tch and moan about it, like the Ron we all know and love, but you will still be here, complaining that Massa is better...
Alonso will never be a Ferrari man... No. As long as Jean Todt remains, absolutely, no. When the time for Shummy to rule arrives, idem... Alonso doesn't have the profile to win with Ferrari... Alonso is a egocentric guy that thinks he is the best in the world, no one can ever match him... he is one of kind... He will never be remebered as one of the specials... So, NO Alonso on my team. The next Ferrari "pilota" will be for sure Heidfeld... It is just a guess but... Regards,
Interesting how we don't hear any denial of the rumors coming from Maranello. That to me speaks louder than words. I'm starting to wonder whether this actually might become a reality.
