Tarek, I'm sure it has voice recognition and re-dial haha ;) I don't know about the phone, looks dull. The article summed it up pretty well: This is certainly the phone for the Ferrari fan with the problem spending money on the overpriced, outdated electronics.

Sadly there are some people who will put more minutes on this phone than they will miles on their cars.

Even more sad is the person that will buy the phone and put it in a display case alongside his 1/18 scale Ferraris

Are there any color options for the leather ;)?

You should be able to buy it in a color matching your Ferrari's interior leather color.

I'll give them kudos for embracing the passion, anyway.

But what would be *cool* from a Ferrari phone would be an OBD code scanner built into the handset. Scan your engine codes and email them to your mechanic or look them up on your phone's browser so that you can repair the problem yourself.

Different Ferrari exhaust note (250, Daytona, 355 w/Tubi, Enzo, F1) ringtones.

The gated shifter would be sweet if that was actually the plug-in connection for the charger or hands free interface. "Function" makes for beauty.

The Ferrari leather and logos on the phone are fine, but letting the phone replace key fobs for alarm/locks would be even better.

I do like the new star wheels on the sport package for the 612, though!

While there are better phones, an iphone is not one of them...the iphone is the worse phone on the market IMHO...along with others using a touch screen dial pad...just try using one in bright sunlight...I had one and went back to my trusty Blackberry with real buttons...

Damn, just found out that it costs about Euros 5500,- in Germany, that is about US$ 7700,-......and guess what, it does come in different leather colors to match your Ferrari's interior ;). Here's a red one, but slightly different.

    $7700? Friggin' ridiculous.

What a massive waste of cash. I could buy a new targa top latch and a fan knob for that kind of money.

Not correct. Here's the actual press release:

"A properly maintained iPhone battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 400 full charge and discharge cycles. You may choose to replace your battery when it no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs."

    More info here:
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html

Note that a full charge and discharge cycle is not defined as "everytime you charge the battery", if you use 50% of the charge and then charge the battery, that is not one cycle. An explanation of this is at http://www.apple.com/batteries/.

The battery on my iPhone tends to last a little over 48 hours. 48 hours X 400 discharge cycles=19,200 hours or 2.19 years. At that point, I'd have 80% of my battery capacity, or 38 hours. If at that point I charge the phone every night as opposed to every other night, I can still go another 1.73 years before I lose another 20% of my battery capacity, bringing me down to 30 hours before having to recharge (still a full day of charge). So we're at, like, four years and the battery still lasts over 24 hours. Doesn't seem like a problem to me.

All this math and the fact is, I'll probably trade up to the newer and better iPhone v.2 in 12-18 months so I don't really care, even if the battery *doesn't* last over 2 years.

MSNBC is saying that it is $25K (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21008159/). I think the phone would be better off being branded as a Lamborghini piece and marketed as a limited opportunity to those "lucky" enough to be getting a Reventon.
