Interesting coincidence--I just posted something about 0131 in the "engine swap" thread. Don't know McGovern but if you know where in California you could try using "Zabasearch."

Richard McGovern lives near San José. Engine 0117 S is in his beautifully restored 212 Vignale Coupé 0131 S and he will show that car again this year at the Concorso Italiano at Blackhorse Golf Club in Seaside-Monterey Friday 17th August 2007. I have spoken to him several times in the past and he doesn't want to sell the engine.

Thus the original engine for 0131 S needs to be found and restored to perfect order ... then I'm sure he will be more interested in a swap :).

Marcel Massini, I am happy to speak with the finder of 117 S.
I am sure that Mr Mc Govern does not want to sell his engine, but it is very probably that in the future near or not, the 117S engine will come back in 117 S Car; I think like PSK that a swap or an agreement may be found.
Anybody can help me to contact Mr McGovern to San Jose.
I think that you would not recognize your find, the muffler was (repair) put back in correspondence and the car does not backfire any more, the tank was treated and the car does not fall any more breakdown all the kilometres, logo Ferrari were painted on each side of the automobile, both leather strips to fix the hood are going to be placed and I clean all the rust which is on the chassis (hard and fastidious); In September a professional will be in charge of "erasing" the defects of painting and body and of putting back to his place the cork of dry sump.
Can give me myself other information which I ignore ?
    THANK YOU.
    GUY

One more thought on Peter Helm's ownership: Lyle Tanner was a friend of Peter's in those days. Lyle sells Ferrari parts; try googling Lyle Tanner Enterprises to find him. Maybe he remembers something.

Correction to my previous post #204. Engine 0117 S is not currently installed in 0131 E (suffix is "E", not "S" as stated previously). The car owned by Richard and Diane McGovern currently has an unstamped 275 GTB/4 motor. However, the McGoverns do also own engine 0117 S but it is not available to be re-united with chassis 0117 S. I have tried very hard already.

This may be of some help:

Are we talking about Peter Helm, the actor born around 1941? If so, perhaps he can be contacted through the Screen Actors Guild. I don't think they would give anyone his current telephone number or address, but they might be willing to take your information and have Mr.Helm contact you if he was willing to do so. He also teaches at the Vancouver, Canada film school. Years ago, I was looking for information on an Alfa Romeo 10204 series car with Vignale body (only 47 cars were made in that series) owned at one time by the actress Angie Dickinson. The Screen Actors Guild put me in touch with her agent, I sent her agent a photo of the car, and about 2 weeks later the agent called me and confirmed that Angie Dickinson had owned the car, but didn't know any more about it....

DRETCETERINI,Very good idea, I shall try tomorrow to send a mail to Hollywood and Canada.
If you have other good ideas do not hesitate has to subject them to me, this thread is really great, I have the impression that things move and that the zones of shadow of 117S will soon be a being levying.(French Translation ??).
    THANKS

Anybody can confirm me that 117S is well around the 50th (or less) car built by Ferrari ?
    one 125 S (11 may 1947) + 39 116 ( 1947 - 1953) + 27 195 (1950 - 1952)
117S leave the factory the 29/03/1951 sold to Ammendola Salvatore the first owner.

Enclosed 3 photographs of the trap of dry oil tank, we are going to do again this part and I shall need the original model to rebuild in identity, somebody can send me two or three definite photographs of the hinge and the condemnation of opening it.
Like indicated more high the car will keep its painting of 50 only years but the two or three places very bad will be reparated by a professional.
The car begins running very well.
I search an acronym Scaglietti of epoch.
I have contacted peter Helm by phone and he must whrite me to give details of 117 S.
    Thanks

Martteen, the Scaglietti badge you showed is correct for the 1955-56 period.
Here is a picture of a good reproduction next to an original off of our car.
