Massa still up by .448 seconds on Hamilton with 12 minutes left. I haven't seen any pics yet but I'm sure they'll be all over the internet tomorrow.

Raikkonen just stretched it to .64 over Hamilton. The Ferraris seem to be dominant thus far, but there is a lot of weekend left. However, with this being a new track for everyone, you can't just throw out the trend from the first practice.

Edit: Hamilton back to within .47 of Raikkonen.

Kimi is a fast learner. I hope they keep this gap up on the Macs all weekend long. Also notice how Alonso is .2 up on Hamilton, another good thing.

Here's a couple of pics from the Macs. It looks to me like Ferrari is running smaller wings than them, usually it's the other way around. Looking good...

    Japan time is UTC/GMT +9.
New York is normally UTC/GMT -5, but with DST, it is currently -4.
So they are 13 hours ahead of New York time (EDT).
As I am typing this, it is just after 12:30 in the afternoon in Japan.

0200 AM Atlantic Canada Practice 2 begins yawn . Long straight as seen from the layout but surprising elevations. The boys will need P1 P2 and top end speed...... not many spots to pass cept the straight....imo

Japan is ahead by 2 hours compared to Malaysia.

i think Ferrari will do well this weekend :)

not much difference the aero stuff on the Ferrari. notice the front camera nose 'mountings' and the side frisbee plate has a slot in the centre of the sidepods.

Funny I never noticed this before. On the left mirror (our right) on the Ferrari there is this little bump on the side. Is this housing for a camera incorporated in the mirror? It is not there on the other mirror.

So much for those Kimi haters who were bashing him for not using a simulator to learn the track.

I think it is, I would guess that is the camera used to get the driver shots we always see.

I like that they have attempted to make the front wheel covers look somewhat decent with the stickered BBS wheel, and logos.

On SpeedTV they showed the following two bits, outlined in the white circle, as being new. They said it was to prevent the air from stalling in the intake ducts when the Ferrari goes down the straight. The F-cars where not the fastest cars in the straight. The announcers said it was their worst sector. I wonder if they have a real stalling problem, where the air stops flowing into ducts, or they need a lot of wing for stability in the curves which slows them down in the straight.
