I know its a F forum and most probably favor the 599. But if you had the choice between the GT and 599 and it will not be a daily driver, which one would you chose. It looks to be much easier and cheaper to find a GT. I also think the GT is faster and I like the open top.
I agree, I'd rather have the GT. To me the 599 doesn't seem so much like the performance car it should be. It's hard for me to explain, but I'm not a huge fan of it. The CGT kicks ass though IMO.
Pros/Cons for each: 599 - FAST speed and amazing to drive but the styling in my opinion is lacking. It does not look like a $500,000 car and that does not normally bother me but when it is not attractive looking that is when it bothers me. I can say that the 599 is not a design I am a huge fan of. Carrera GT - Fast car, easy to drive once you learn and exotic looking. Problem is the warranties will soon be up and the clutch is not used correctly could burn out easily. Not a car that you can really drive around town due to clearance issues. Personally out of the two I would take either a Yellow Carrera GT or Black with Red Interior Carrera GT. I just LOVE that car!!!!!
Thanks, I talked to a dealer today and was told the clutch is something you really have to get used to. It grabs real low he indicated. And most buyers stall until they get used to it. Also told me the ride is very rigid similar to the Testarosa. Althogh I have no idea what that Ferrari drives like but my 360 rides firm but acceptable. I like the GT Silver with terracotta interior.
Definitely CGT over 599. Yes...599 is hot...but doesn't quite do it for me (and many others). The CGT is beyond incredible in many ways. It's orgasmic.
Carrera GT all the way! The 599 depending on the color looks ugly...but the CGT looks great in any color.
The Porsche Carrera GT in a heartbeat. I went for a ride in one and it was amazing. Every aspect car is like a beautiful piece of art, down to the key. The only tiny thing that could be improved is the exhaust note. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
When is charles going to get his 599? He is not really a Ferrari guy but has mentioned many times that he will pay a huge premium for when the next limited edition supercar comes out. Is his garage done yet?
I am not too sure about the 599, but I know that he really wants to get an F40, which Werner has been looking into without luck. I remember him saying that he did not want a 599 as he is not into the touring cars, but would like a 430. As for him not really being a Ferrari guy, I don't think that is true, as he has a 275GTB/4, and has owned two 360s in the past, and probably a few that I dont even know about. The garage is moving fairly slow because he is putting more focus into his vacation house. When done the garage should be amazing. It supposedly should hold 18 cars, have a wine celler, a gym, and have rotating floors for the cars. He even is getting a Ferrari engine for decoration. It should be interesting to see what cars he fills it up with.
I had no clue he had a 275GTBCam. What color is it? 18 cars will be a nice garage and I am sure it will be full of a lot of nice toys. Post up some pics of the car if you have taken any.. Carrera GT for sure!
They are really apples and oranges. One is a real sports car and one is almost a sports car, but really a GT. Close, but still different beasts.
The exhaust note be improved? THE EXHAUST NOTE?!?!? My god haha, sexiest soundingcar ever, hands down!! Carrera GT without a doubt, and im an avid Porsche/Ferrari enthusiast! You just can't compare the thrill as a fun time car!
I do not know what color the 275GTB is, but I will have my dad ask him. When I went to his house the Ferrari was not there, as there was no space in the garage for it with the Porsche, the Bentley, and two Ducati's filling it up. I think that the car is being stored at Motorclassic over in White Plains, and I highly doubt that it gets driven much. I only have pictures of the Bentley and the Porsche, but I am going to try to head back over to his house to get some more pics, including the Ferrari during one of my school breaks.
damn that carrera GT sounds sick! California guy what is wrong with an exaust that sounds like that? Joey this is a video jason took back in 2005 from my car show. The owner still has this Red Carrera GT and lives in the my town. http://youtube.com/watch?v=wOWqMwKBfP4
CGT all the WAY!!! Not to discredit the 599, but CGT is better in: - Looks...waaaay better. I can't stand the crap Ferrari's being coming out. 430 Replacement (F460?) is the first Ferrari in a long time that's decent looking. - Investment, much better value on a CGT than what the Flippers want for the 599. Besides the 599 is Ferrari's flagship car, so it's just a matter of time before market normalize. There are also less CGT than 599...I think. - Performance...I don't know enough to comment, but I don't do F1.
