    Andreas,

Please don't post threads with these kind of headlines again unless there's an official statement by the ones involved. If there isn't an official statement it's all gossip. Don't give me a heartattack again, thanks.

BAH, I can't read German. I take it you've translated all of the information we really need to read. And yes, that is pretty interesting. If it were going to be for McL, I would think he would just come out and say it. In the article in the other stop the press thread, that says "he's happy" All he says there is that he's under contract. WELL DUH. You can't read too much into that. Sort of an ambiguous statement if you ask me. Something's afoot.

I don't think they need it, you really do want FA in red :)

The punishment is not financed from our Racing program. We are in the formula 1, in order to win. That will not impair our obligation, which we have in the formula 1. Additional money will be found. “

McLaren is not on very strong financial legs: Most of its income is FOM money (gone with the fine) and Mercedes paying for the construction of the SLR. The rest is sponsor money. They don't have much to fall back on as they exhausted their resources building the Paragon.

If Mercedes doesn't bail them out (as stated by Haug), they rely solely on sponsorships.

ugh alonso in a ferrari what could be worse. I just don't understand why he would go to them when everyone knows kimi is too fast to be relegate to #2 status.

His #1 goal is the WDC. Ferrari's chances for that are better than Renault's where he would still have to develop the car back up to par.

He does have the knack of knowing where best to move so we will have to wait and see ,if he thinks Mclaren have run out of money no doubt he will run somewhere.

"Alonso is a great driver, he's now fighting for a third drivers' world championship. He's a great driver, I have a lot of respect for him as a driver, but we are very happy with our contracted drivers."

    Not anymore he is not

FA has exceptional talent "on track", but his behaviour off it over the last 9 months has been dire.

His alleged threat to Ron Dennis to go to the FIA with more info if LH wasnt removed from McLaren at year end was childish, immature and naive - I can't see Todt or Ross Brawn(!!) accepting comparable behaviour, let alone Briatore and Ghosn.

If I was RD, Alonso and De la Rosa would already be looking for a new job and I dont think it'll be with the Scuderia.

Whichever way wether its Renault or Toyota, FA is going to be watched much closer - and with some musical chairs to follow maybe things are'nt all bad, they could dump Ralf,Fizzi,Rubens and Jarno!
