I think they put the Acura Integra engine in them, and of course modify it. That's a great sleeper, the hood is bent, has rust etc, looks like a $500 car. I would question it though, from what I remember being in a CRX, if it would go 160 mph, the engine would be turning 10-11 grand.
That video was full of it. Looks like some honda f@gs rented a Murcielago for the weekend only to humliated it and give rice respect. Plus that 997 blew right pased him like he was standing still I mean come on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbgQLqy51ac Shows what honda guys know about lamborghinis Here's a civic vs a Murcielago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EbKU9pJwLs&mode=related&search= if you wanna even call this a vaild race
C'mon guys don't tell me that any of you actually thought this was real???? It is just a retarded staged fake video, 2001 Lamborghini Murcielago
Maybe I should stage a video of me racing a modified NSX in my 2M4. No Lambo owner acts like that, "My pride was hurt by a 5k CRX" WTF??? only a civic owner would say such a thing.
I rode in a modified CRX with an Integra motorswap, very powerfull but surely not even enough to hit high speeds of 160 even if had the bottle with dragslicks the car would litary fall apart trying to hang at those speeds. Plus it sounded nothing like it was modified, not even the infamous fartcan exhaust couldn't be heard in this video.
They said B18 which is a honda motor still. The K series motors are Acura motors and that is the more popular motor swap but before that it was defiantly the B18. The K20 comes in the RSX. That would have to be pretty heavily modded to keep up with a lambo.
I'm leaning toward the staged/fake video as well. The BS flags are up. I really hate it when these boys run modified up against stock Italian and think that they have something special... if you are going to run it, run modified Italian against modified "rice" and lets see what you got. And if they actually do make something worthwhile, then I'll gladly tip my hat to somebody that knows how to tune. But if any of you Civic people are out there scratching your head saying "wait a minute, we have real sports cars" This is your wake up call, you own Civics they are cheap cars. Honda has a luxury division and Civics are sure as hell not it. In fact, out of all the Honda lineup, Civics are the cheapest of them all! They are not fast, they are not even respectable, so stop making fake videos claiming to beat the worlds finest Italians, because you only make yourself look even more stupid doing so!
Agreed I hate stock vs modified racing with a passion cause its pure BS and is very unfair, its retarded like giving up car lengths on pinks.
You would need a fully gutted CRX/civic with a roll cage and some chassis modifactions, Micky tompson dragslicks, running on some straight racing gas with some serious modifactions to that B16 to hang with a Lamborghini from a roll even then Id still question if it would pull at those speeds. Those guys where clearly sandbagging in the lambo. That 997 walked away from the CRX as if he was standing still.
Well, hard to say if it's real or not. I will say it is very possible though. I had a type-r that made 477whp on low boost(never dynoed on high boost) and it weighed 2400 pounds. At the track I only got one pass on low boost due to no roll cage. The car went 11.4@125, the car was capable of 10.8's@130, so it's not unrealistic to think a lighter crx couldn't do the same. But I can assure you it wasn't a 5k motor and it would need to be boosted to do it. With the music it's hard to tell, but it did sound like it was boosted. Just food for thought. I'd still rather cruise in the M
At that speed the Lambo could drop in second and walk the crx even if he gave the Honda 3-5 lengths on the jump....At best the Lambo driver did'nt want to waste his gas, I can't even count the times I would not acknowledge a ricer for the fact that it is pointless to race a car that you know has no chance against you.
You need to go watch the video again! The 996 was a 700hp car, the CRX had a full roll cage, and nos. I have no idea who owned the CRX but I was in the Murci, it was a 2002 that was made and bought in 2001. We ran from 50mph on the first run and then again at 65mph on the 2nd, and yes the Lambo was full out. We didn't catch him until we hit 160mph then we passed him, I don't know how fast he was going at that point or what his top speed is. Give some credit were its due, he was fast, the Lambo was stock and got beat.
I've seen other videos online with the same two guys riding in a Ferrari, getting pulled over by the cops because they were 'going to slow in the left hand lane' while they slowed down to film the cop on the road. As for the video itself, I have no clue whether it was staged or real. :S
hes fast but honda will never get respect from me regardless of how fast it I don't care if it walks a Lambo or an F15 its still a honda at the end of the day.
+1 No way that Lambo was full out unless the driver was in 6th gear and feathering the gas A first gear roll on from 50 mph would walk away from that CRX no matter what mods.....
You guys seemed awfully happy to put a Lambo down on the internet for that not to be fake... Plus - I see half a cage
nice. what a narrow minded jackass. clearly you are all about image. i know both the driver and passenger (prova).... they are both true car enthusiasts unlike some of you.
