Never say never...I'm amazed at the 'sleepers' I see sometimes.....
I would prefer to buy a car thats due for service and take it and have it done myself, rather than trust anyone, or a stack of reciepts.
I kept thinking, something isn't right. Then it hit me - a 348 bumper... and there's something about some of the panel fit that doesn't seem right. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed - not sure I like that 348 front bumper on the Mondial. The rear spoiler, IMO, looks bad also. The relocated Ferrari badging on the trunk doesn't appeal to me either, but I guess if you're going to put a wing on the back that covers the Ferrari script... I do like the painted mirror housings though. Seems like that would work on a Mondial in a brighter color. Not sure that would work very well on Grigio though... Bob
Its officially a POS.. I inspected the car check my notes in the other thread and watch the video of the car sputtering as it is parked outside that I took. JJ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x8cwKhGAU0

Bet that auction is closed before it ends. He states the price is high twenties for the car in the ad.
While this somewhat pains me to relate, JR Consjero may be selling his absolutely terrific and loved Mondial on the 'other board'. He is selling due to severe health reasons, and he has really lavished wonderful attention on the car to include 11:1 pistons and an updated electrical system with high output alternator. For someone looking for a terrific car with very desirable upgrades, you would be hard pressed to find better, and his price is somewhat under the value of the car by my assessment. I hope it goes to a good home.
Wow - that Mondial 3.2 went for $20K. If I were in the market, I would have been ALL OVER that one. Is this truly the "market price" for Mondials, or was this an exception? Bob
I thought this sold on evil-bay. But it's back again. I wonder why the purchaser backed-out. As usual, no affiliation to the seller, yada,yada,yada.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AWNARL%3AMT%3A12&viewitem=&item=220153074002
I pulled my trailer 400 miles to see that one on Sept 7, but came home empty as the price then was still too high for what I think it needed. Looked good though. I tried to bid last night but was wireless and my last minute bid would not go thru. Sent him an email anyway this morning in case the deal falls thru. Drove nice, doesn't smoke, ac is cold, everything works, stock wheels have been refinished and are nice, leather is good, no books, partial tools, no jack, one 2003 service record of major from a non Ferrari major dealership. Car fax showed nice steady mileage history so it's most likely correct. Leaks oil from every gasket. One rear control arm has paint marking stick part # on it as if a used part was installed sometime, but could see no evidence of hit or damage. Owner has a parking lift so I was able to look it over very well. Wheels are for a 348 and probably look good on one, he'd sell them separately if you need 'em. I think lack of records, need for major now and the deer hit story kept this one down in $, but the front damage was only a grill and bumper in front of the hood, never even bent a bracket. Kudos to the guy for being open about that repair. With a fresh service, this could be a nice car with lots of life left in it.
Might be a good source for a motor and trans. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-ferrari-308-gts_W0QQitemZ280156271814QQihZ018QQcategoryZ6212QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Image Unavailable, Please Login
