would be great, try and not be LATE!No reason why I cannot come along to"M bar " when i am out.Just ring Catherine at work and tell you guys are of the Ferrari CHATTIE line! She will be able to tell you were I am hanging out.But I will be in the Peter Mac near ST Pauls.and will be able to have a coffee at JJ"S down stairs.
fingers crossed, its a high grade of Lymphoma known as Blastic Mantel Cell, dont look it up I shat myself, but te PROS in the field have given me much hope of staying around for a good few years.
Just follow the specialists advice and don't google. Figures as to remission/cures are often skewed for lots of various reasons and if you rely on the "median survival rate" or "5 year survival rate" then you will sh*t yourself repeatedly. Worst patients I have are the ones that come prearmed with internet crap. Call me anytime mate
it's not always crap, 13 years ago I was "armed" with 2 subject groups re women with epilespsy and the drugs they used during pregnancy which stated that 10% of women on the drugs my wife was taking would have the drugs turn toxic on them following the birth, was dismissed by the pediatricians as BS ..... unfortunately for us my wife was in the 10% and was flown to Brissy in a right state because the docs refused to even entertain the idea they might be wrong but in RB's case there is a lot of fluctuating information out there which either scares the **** out of you or looks quite curable, either way I'd be happy to listen to the experts who've spent many years of their lives researching and treating this, these guys really are the people youngs Aussies should be trying to emulate rather than some goose who can kick or run with a ball
consider it done rob, will see if we cant tee something up for this week as for us being 'late'....wait longer! then, FO
Rob, I have it too! In another form of it, a Gammopathy and it has taken the form of CIDP. I had the docs in Ann Arbor, screwing around with it and not correctly diagnosing it, for 20 years, as my body deteriorated, primarily the central nervous system, into MS like symptoms and destruction. I went to MAYO Clinic, in Minnesota, where I got the right docs and a correct diagnoses. I leave it there but, what ensued, placed me in a nursing home and wheelchair, lost my paid for home, etc. This is what I want to relay and tell you. You must fight as you have never fought before. The mental attitude that you must develop and use, is your hope and salvation. You can beat it for a while, and hopefully something else will cause your passing, like a jealous husband, catching you in the saddle, so to speak. If you believe in GOD and Christ, The Holy Spirit and Prayer, will have a profound effect on you and the cancer, in helping you deal and defeat it, in the daily battles that you will face. That we all face. You are not the only one who has this, so try not to mentally isolate yourself, accept the help of your family and friends. It does make a big difference. Do what the docs say, but always question them and do your own research on your particular illness. If nothing else, you educate yourself and keep them honest. You need to be the expert, it does really help. PM me if you wish and I'll try my best to help. I have Family in Sydney, a few docs amongst them. My best to you Mate...Paul
Hi Paul, Thankyou for your support and words of wisdom. Luckily in Australia, we have a wonderful hospital dedicated to cancer, (the Peter Mac Institute). I have found it inspirational to be in there, and met so many wonderful people already. I might take you up on your kind offer, if and when it gets tough. I hope you are well - what interest do you have in the Ferrari car? Regards, Rob Bailey.
Rob, Good to hear from you Mate! I'm glad you have found a good Clinic, to help heal you, very important! I hope you continue with good news and prevail. My salvartion was The Mayo Clinic, past Presidents Ford and Reagan, would go there for their physical check-ups. When I was there, King Hussein of Jordan, was there undergoing treatment for his illness. He flew into little Rochester, MN. Airport in his Royal Jordanian L-1011, his own Airline, from Amman, Jordan. The aircraft was almost too large for the runways, but the pilot did a superb job of landing that Jumbo Heavy Jet. My Ferrari interests are more in the mid-20th Century--250 GT's, and the classic V12's. Never owned one yet. Had the money, but life and and family responsibilites then, put them ahead of a Ferrari, and then my crash and burn, healthwise. Things have changed, and I've been looking at 400i's, lately, but haven't pulled the trigger, yet. My fascination with the "Old Man," Enzo Ferrari, is as intense as my interest in the cars. The Racing Teams and primarily Scuderia Ferrari F1 GP Team, and the politics and the drivers, etc. All the teams really, in all types of Racing. G'day for now...Paul or as I sign off my other posts, Ciao...Paolo.
down here"The Mayo Clinic " is well known and respected. To keep my strength up,I am going to have vitamin C,via a drip. The early 250 GT's are a favourite of mine,so sad so many have been turned into GTO and SWB "fakes" regards Rob.
good to hear from YOU,was hopping you were still on the forum.I so enjoy your comments no matter how tuff, cutting ect.
No worrys mate.....dont leave the car in the hospital car park with a FORSALE sign on it or the boys will talk about you.
they'd think someone was flogging off the ambulances <someone photoshop RB's Boxer with a red cross on it >
