I cannot remember any published times.
    Some must have.
It's not Ferrari's cup of tea as its Porsche's stomping grounds; "beneath" Ferrari.
If one is going to pick a fight, do it on your terms.

I "asked" the question but I thought that Ferrari didn't want the Enzo run on the Ring. I even thought it was built into buying the cars. I can't remember if an Enzo ran there and I will assume if I heard about it, I wouldn't have forgotten about it.

    Umm, exactly.

I don't get all the blow hards here up in arms over the comparison. Its a pretty remarkable achievement that this car is able to do these times (or even 10 sec slower) and still be under $100k, irregardless of the name on the badge.

Even further to my point above, I seriously don't get the comparison of this car to super cars... Its a very fast GT car for less than any comparible model. Viper and Corvette are not the same type of car, and honestly will not be as exclusive.

I have been a fan of the Skyline since the old days of the R33 and Let me tell iam very excited about this new Skyline coming to US shores this month.

I just wish that Nissan would challenge themselves to challenge Porches next Supercar insead of the past one.

The Carrera GT is still an impact player but its out of production, what if Porsche is to release a Veyron type supercar next? then what? they will be back the drawing board.

Many people who spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on their cars feel that they need to put down any car that doesn't cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, as evidenced by several folks in this thread.

They just feel threatened or something. It's funny.

While some years were not always pretty, the Skyline model line has been around since 1957.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Skyline

It is nothing new. Sideways & reverse baseball caps will not be for this car, since it is a bit over the typical pricetag of the F&F fanatic. I will predict, last next year, the sideways and reverse baseball cap F&F fanatics will be seated in the new Camaro, not the GTR.

Settle down. Both sides have valid claims here. The car is awkward... it performs, but doesn't have the substance to sit next to the CGT.
I didn't think it was going to be sold as a Skyline... which is a dumb move. At least with the Skyline name, you'd get some sort of claim to heritage. Otherwise it's like the G35 where you have to make excuses - "But it's a Skyline in Japan"

I didn't really think the same for the NSX, especially considering the price, but have been proven wrong in that respect. Give this vehicle a few years to depreciate. You'll see all kinds of weird crap tacked on, obnoxious Veilside kits and cheesy paint schemes. Happened to the Acura and no reason to believe this would escape the same fate.

Does anyone think the car is good-looking? From the photos I've seen, it's really unremarkable design-wise. Do the Japanese have something against curvy, sexy vehicles? Guess I'll have to see one to really make a fair judgment.

It took a number of years for that to happen. But speaking of body kits and such, they probably do it since it doesn't have all the curves and lines of a Pininfarina sculpted body. Even some Fcars will get bodykits as well, and speaking of a production number vs. those with body kits/modifications, it might be quite a close number, ratio wise.

It is good looking in its own way. Not a passionate way, but a different kind of impression. It is a usable car, and blends in well. If you saw an R32, 33 or even 34 on the streets, it would be only for those who know what it is.

2008 Nissan Skyline (Not GTR coming stateside) released today in Japan. This is just the G37 Coupe.

The japanese would even modify a Lambo Reventon... And a young kid would put a aluminium spoiler on a Enzo if he was given one...

The NSX has reached 30.000 $ prices and the younger crowd are able to afford the cars, I don't think there were so many kits let's say 7 years ago. I still think it looks sexy with only a drop and bigger cleaner wheels. I don't like how someone violates it :( Although some of the modified ones turn out to be even betterlooking I think it's safe to say that it's 1 out of 20 modified NSX's...

For this reason I don't think many kids will get hold of this vehicle until the prices are really low. This will be a highly attractive car on the used market so I doubt the prices will drop like on a AMG Mercedes. However, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw affordable 600 hp tuning packages in true Skyline (I know this one's not a Skyline but it's older brothers) tradition.

I can't wait. It's not a Ferrari and it was never supposed to be. It's supposed to be fun, fast and feared.

You say lowering it and adding bigger wheels is what you would do. Some think that's Gawdy.

Personally you can modify your car anyway you want, it all comes down to what the owner likes. Passing judgment because you don't agree makes no sense.

No. "Lost in translation" is all I can think of to explain the cluster**** lines & shapes. There is no style anywhere. They need pininfarina or Giugiaro!

I was just using your post.

I see cars that are bronze and others that have too much going on and think "No way would that be me". But if the owner wants it, chances are the owner will get it.

I totally agree, you could easly compare this car to like the market of the Viper GTS or better yet the fourth gen Supra when there was a market left now its almost gone. :D I know ill be getting one for myself as a business/daily driver I love Skylines and have been a fan of them since the days of the R32 but id never modify one though to me thats my RollRoyce. If i wanted performance ill drop my money on an Ultima.

The real question is exotic or not? Anyone want to start a poll...

This is correct. It is a fantastic car, but will not be considered an exotic, even if there were only a few hundred made - which I doubt there would be.

If it is to be! than it would be in LP640 territory.

Id love it but as a Skyline enthusist I wish Nissan wouldn't have priced it so high. Iam not looking for speed but it doesn't hurt to have alittle punch to my future daily driver ;)
