was at pocono today with my new 997 gt3 and couldnt believe how much motor it has. no way is it just 415 hp. ive read rumors that the ram induction at speed is worth another 35 hp and i bet its even more than 450 total.

im only an intermediate driver with high 1:30 lap times but car still went from 110 at end of turn 1 to 165 at end of strait. my car had a huge acceleration advantage over 355c, 360c, or 430 street cars. same was true for gallardos and z06's. better drivers would pull away from me in the infield but i could easily catch up on the straits.

only downside vs my old 348 spider is its harder for me to be smooth on infield portion. ps cup tires stick great in the fast banked turns but dont seem much better than my old kumhos in slow ones. probably just need more experience with it so we'll see next year.

im pretty sure an expert driver in my unmodified street car would have been about fastest car out there.

forgot the guy's name, but a couple weeks ago i met a guy up at lime rock who was running a stock GT3 on street tires with only adjustments to the stock suspension and the euro roll cage, and he was running 58 seconds, which is pretty fast for a street car.

experience is the key. Once you get that GT3 down, not only will you pull people on the straights, but you will catch them in the turns too. a GT3 vs a Fchallenge car is basicly the street car comparison between the GT3RSR and F430GT that run in ALMS. They match up well, and it comes down to the driver to really make it shine.

The sport mode in the GT3 gives you 18 lb-ft more torque in the mid-range :)

    Cool feature!

oh yeah, and to the OP, please beat the snot out of that GT3. Since you are now a converted P-Car driver from F-Cars...these cars are meant to be DRIVEN unlike their italian counterpart.

I was about 4 seconds faster in the GT3 than the F430, on average, this season.
