I called the local Gamestop and was told the same thing. I am going to pick one up midday between classes, but probably will be too busy to play it until the weekend. I hope that it lives up to it's expectations.
I am doing an upgrade on some equipment tonight, so I'll have all day to track this f*cker down and play it tomorrow... Release date my @ss.
^^^ amen to that, guys please sign up here and check the forums so we can do some launch day racing tomorrow http://foctdu.freeforums.org/
I was dissapointed too. went to gamestop, guy told me today is the "delivery" date. what i don't get, is why not just say it is out on the 3rd? Whatever getting it tomorrow. Waiting one day isn't too bad.
I don't mind getting the game on the 3rd. What I mind is that the games "Release Dates" are incosistent. Halo 3, a tuesday launch, could be bought on tuesday. if it's launch day, I should be able to walk in to a given store and pick up said game *unless they've sold out or whatever). If I took my car to a shop to have the barkes done (for example... I do my own brakes, but for the sake of argument) and they said, "it'll be done on Tuesday" I'd expect it on Tuesday. Not that I couldn't live without it until Wednesday, but I expect it on Tuesday, because that's what I was told - it's the inconsistency that pisses me off - some Tuesday games are available on Tuesday, while other Tuesday releases aren't available until Wednesday. Bush League.
The thing about the gaming industry is when they say a game releases on this date, it really means this game has now been released from the factory and can now be shipped to stores....Strange, but that's how they do it.
i was thinking around 6 or 7 eastern time, if that is ok with you guys i will update the thread on foctdu.freeforums.org
I just picked up a copy at the local EBGames, it was the last copy that they had. I have to write a paper before I play it, but I can give my review pretty soon.
I am playing it right now. Initial review is not overly positive. When I first played PGR3, I hadn't really played PGR1 or PGR2 much, so PGR3 was amazing. The last PGR game I had actually really played was MSR on the Dreamcast. On the 3 main topics: * The graphics didn't really wow me, since I got so used to PGR3. * The controls seem weird after months of Forza 2. * And the interface just takes a little time to get used to. * The soundtrack is very annoying. I switched "stations" a couple of times and then just ignored it. On the game modes: * The arcade mode has specific events instead of letting me choose from a large number of cars and tracks and just "jump in". Going to spend more time in Career Mode before I come back to this. * The career mode starts me off with a few low-end vehicles which seems fair, but there's always this garage that I can look into, which has 4 high-end vehicles in it. But it seems that I can only take photos or swap each of them for another high-end vehicle. But I haven't been able to use these high-end cars in the game. The walking motion within a garage now feels more wobbly as if you're really walking. (Not sure if that's a good thing or not) * Online, I tried to join a game, but just waited for a while an didn't connect to anything. So I'll just get back to Career Mode and come back to this later. Anyway, I look forward to spending more quality time with this game, then I can come back with an actual review instead of the rambling on.. ~shahedc .
I love it so far. There are some really great new tracks, and the FXX, 599, and Caparo T1 are VERY impressive. Anyone else going to be on later tonight? If so, my gamertag is "monzaF1." -John
i love it, a few things i dont like are the not being able to choose your car class, i dont like how you cant retry a race and i wish there were more street races instead of cone challenges and the other non racing modes. i think the cities are great, i love st petersburg so much fun, though my online wasnt working today hopefully it will be working tomorrow
How come? Mine was $ 70 on ebay btw. Used. Works like a charm. Very tactile FFB in Forza2. Any bit as good as the Logitech wheel for PS2.
I had put mine in the box a month ago.. I just ordered a new wheel stand for it, so I'll try it again when I get the new wheel stand. (This is Kyle's Goodknight's new WS2 foldable wheel... I loved the previous non-foldable one, but I threw it away a few years ago, when I was moving) ~shahedc .
ndnboi4u2nv, is your name supposed to be "Indian Boy for You to Envy" ? If so, then asking for a free 360 isn't something you should be asking for. Ask any of the hard-working members on this board, college grad or not. They all worked hard for their money. The 360 can be had for $300, so you just have to get a job and save a few hundred dollars. Also, go to ign.com, gamespot.com, and enter every single sweepstakes you can on every single gaming website. You're bound to win something someday. Best of luck. ~shahedc .
It just doesn't work well for me... I turn the wheel and get nothing, a turn a little more, and spin out. I've messed with all the setting and such, never could get it configured the way I liked/wanted... Kinda pisses me off, acutally... If anyone wants/needs a wheel, let me know - I'll sell it cheap.
Are you talking about Microsoft's XBox360 wireless wheel? I bought *MANY* wheels in my life, but this is the first where I never had to fiddle with any kind of settings (well, ok the Logitech on PS2 was troublefree as well). There are some undriveable cars in Forza (Lingenfelter Corvette anybody?), but for the most part the thing is like butter. Pagani Zonda is probably the most perfect car setup wise.
