Are you a "Garage Gazer"?

Ok, I admit it. I not only gaze, but smell. There is something about the smell of the leather in a Ferrari - it just makes me smile!

To me if you are not in awe of the things you have and that you have worked so hard to get...then something is wrong.

Almost everytime I go in to the garage I get a little jump because of what I see when I open that door.

Same could be said about your wife...if you don't skip a little beat everytime you see her then...well.... that's a totally different topic.

I love to sit int he garage and gaze!

 

i did it in the very beginning when i bought the tr 9 yrs ago....it took me about 5 yrs to finally sink in. It died for a very long time, but since i bought the glass car some months back, i cant help but be in shock and think to myself i cant believe i have 2 of these things.
I told my wife, its no different than you looking in the mirror for half an hour with new shoes, hairdo or whatever. Same thing for us gear heads.

 

I often take a chair and a glass of wine out and just look at the cars. I get some odd looks from the neighbors, but that is nothing new.

I completely agree...keep your wife in the garage, and every time you go into the garage, after you finsih gawking at your F-car, give her a well deserved gaze.

 

2 nights ago, I got back from an evening ride in my 308QV. I popped the rear decklid to let it cool as I normally do, then I proceed to walk around the car, and around, and around, and around, and around.

I walked around the car 10 to 20 times, just staring at it from every angle for maybe 30 mins or so.

Beautiful.... and I'm quite honestly amazed that I'm one of the priviledged few that have owned/driven a Ferrari.

I do it all the time too. It's like an antique/vintage firearm- you don't have to shoot it to enjoy the beauty, workmanship, and overall coolness of it!

 

I just did it 30 minutes ago.

 

I have a set of chairs set up in my garage so that I can sit a gaze at the car while I have a beer at the end of the day. The extra chairs are so that others who are visiting can gaze at it too. My wife calls it, "Petting my baby." She also calls NASCAR "Smack Down Racing."

Is 8-10 times a day obsessive? (not counting when I go in to tell her g'nite every night) I think I do it because I still cant believe there's actually a Ferrari in my garage! But she is gorgeous... and what man can stop himself from staring at a hot redhead!?

Not to hijack the thread but for a moment there I thought you were talking about those guys who love to walk by my home when the garage door is up. The first time is okay, but three times in an hour? Bring by a beer and I'll give you a tour

 

I'll probably sell the Fcar when I stop "gazing".

Euhm....my ice-cube-machine is also in the garage and since the F is there i prefer to have all my drinks with ice, even ice-coffee.
Everytime i open the door, i thank her for the wonderfull joy and happines she brings to me.
And i have to admit that i kissed her more than once .... after a few single malts with ice

( when you are drunken every night, thats also a regular life )

Yes, I sit in my manrage and stare at my pride and joy with a Montecristo and an Isley malt. Sometimes I even just sit in the car...knowing I'm not going anywhere.

My brother had a great idea for a sign in the manrage:

Manrage
Rule #1: No chicks allowed
Rule #2: Can't you read b*tch

Our wives didn't find the humor in it. His especially, as now she is ex-wife #2 for him.

 

I am not only a garage gazer, I am also a "driveway" gazer (couldn't think of a good word to substitute for gazer starting with "d" LOL). I love to pull the Ferrari (1989 Mondial t) down the driveway and sit in the deck chair and just admire.

 

Oh, I forgot to add that a nice Romeo y Julieta reserva real #2 cigar and a glass of Ruffino Chianti Classico go very well with the gazing.

 

I almost spit out my mtn dew when I read that..... "Smack Down Racing".... classic..... LOL
