Hi guys, After a divorce and a stranded relationship trailing that divorce, I've decided to take some time to myself and mostly be kind to myself. The weather over here is crappy, I love the US, and the weather in the LA area is splendid as ever. And so I've just booked a flight to LA, where a rented Miata will be waiting for me (a 430 spyder would have set me back $16,000, which I thought would be a bit excessive for a 9-day rent). I'll be doing a bit of driving around, cruising the 101, surfing at Malibu, going to Chino for some airplane watching, to Corona to pick up some aircraft goodies, maybe a drive to Mojave and generally taking it easy and enjoying life. Anyone here living in that area and interested in swapping some war stories over a beer or chilidog? I'll be there 16 to 24 October. Cheers Hans
I am the Director of Maintenance for Flight Research at Mojave airport. I have over 40 aircraft from Fighters to C-150. PM me for my work number or go to www.flightresearch.com and Give me a call if you get up this way and I will give you a tour Jeff
WOW, that'd be great Jeff! I have not made any plans yet (which is the whole idea of this trip), but it looks like the first plan might be forming here. I'll PM you. Thanks! Hans
Don't worry Chris. I bought the GT4 AFTER I got divorced. My ex wife thought it was an ugly, noisy, smelly, silly thing and THUS I was not allowed to buy it. One of the first things I did after leaving the house was buy my GT4. My girlfriend (ex girlfriend now, unfortunately) just loved it. Drove in it a lot, went with me to Venice-Italy last winter in the GT4 as well as to quite a few FChat events here. (Yeah, I miss her....) Hans
Back home... Thanks Jeff, Rocco and David for the great reception that you all gave me! Silly how I only got to drive a whole 100 yards with you Rocco.... Ah, well, the drive to David and from there to lunch was great! David: good luck with your GT4. It takes courage to take on a project like this. I hope that you see it through! Jeff: AWESOME place you're working there! A definate highlight of my stay in So-Cal. THANKS to you all!!! Hans
