I find it fun to go driving with even one other Ferrari, a dozen or more is a blast! The ride from your house to mine, a tour of my garages, donuts and coffee on me, and the ride up 95 to the meeting place will be a blast! Once we get there, a leisurely ride through pretty country roads will be memorable, the picnic will be nice, another ride through the country, then another enthusiast ride back down south will make the day complete. Hope you can make it. I think that if we keep the groups small and compatible, this should be well worth the effort. That goes for Darren, too, hope you can make it, new tires and all!
If I'm following everything correctly, the changes that occurred between Post #187 through Post #222 (at least the ones that I believe to be "real" or otherwise "definite") are noted and incorporated in this manufacturers' list: 13 - Ferrari (Dropped Wetpet and MDshore348 as withdrawals; deleted duplicate JoeZebra308 entry. Added Mike550M.) 12 - Porsche 10 - BMW 04 - Lotus 02 - Chevrolet 02 - Dodge 02 - Noble 02 - Subaru 01 - Cadillac (MabF355 finally declared his 'ride') 01 - Infiniti 01 - Mercedes (added NomadM3's friend) 01 - Honda motorcycle TOTAL....51
I haven't officially declared anything yet. I am simply trying to weigh my options/figure something out. I don't even have a good back up this time, except for my "yo-yo chromies for the homies Escalade." I've got some work to do. You will have the true rider eventually. -Marc
Jon, a friend of mine (a fellow auto enthusiast) will likely be joining in his tweaked Audi A4. Thanks! -Nawar ps. Someone suggested name tags, do we want to do that?
Oh, and I just found out, my other friend with Ferraris, Tefft, will not be coming. It's unfortunate, as he's a huge Ferrari enthusiast and has several nice ones. Cheers, Nawar
ahhhhh Well said Jon...Well Said. Enjoy the rally boys, I am doing some more track ready things to my "Grocery Getter" lol and will be in Upstate NY for the weekend so enjoy. Maybe if it rains I will be there on the 20th to enjoy and film. JohnnyDents sent me 20 stickers. Anyone stopping at my house on the way up north can have one. I assume they come off easily without any paint damage? They seem a bit big for the windshield, may obstruct vision, so I assume they are meant for the door.
Barry they do come off easy and if there placed up high enough you should see just fine. They are made just for cars so I wouldn't worry about paint damage although with anything else common sense should rule the day. here's one that i put on the windshield of my dakota a couple days ago but for the rally the viper will have them on it too. look'en forward to a great day. cool. Barry if you have any(stickers) left after you pass them out would you mind bringing the remainder up to the rally just in case anymore cars show up. thanks John
WRONG PEOPLE its not about the money or my 60k car(not that much by todays standards) i dont feel any of the drama actually~ calm down folks. not high and mighty , and yes a new porsche can outperform my car on the track , probably a WRX can too! i just like driving in a SMALL group of like kind vehicles. my preference, my (problem). I guess also its a long drive up for me , to drive a around awhile , and then a long drive home... IM just not up for that this year. sorry i unintentionally bashed the drive, it is more my personal preference. PS i also like BBQ sauce on my Tuna sandwich ... BTW last year - my tires werent BALD ...however they were cold and the hill we drove up on had wet leaves...i gunned it and the car slid a bit then grabbed. doing about 20 mph . all of the sudden was up on the side of the hill.I should have known better!I made a mistake ... the only person who saw it was Wetpet who can attest to the situation.. so what ~ i drive it like i stole it. thats more than i can say for some squirrel in a box-stock off the showroom car who drives as hard as brokeback mountain interlude. For MD and VA, we are forming a convoy across from Passport BMW on MD Route 5 and I-95. Meet up by 730 am and depart at 8 just like last year. Anyone is welcome to join. We will be making a pitstop at bst1's house before continuing on to the Skillet. Bring your FRS radios and gas up beforehand please. PM me if you need my cell phone nu ber. Last year the convoy ride up was a blast! David, you are welcome to ride with me.

David, you are welcome to ride with me.[/QUOTE] be prepared to listen to relentless cd's of Enya and and other elevator favorites.
Well we are 24 hours from the event and I think the weather gods have shone upon us once again. forecast 87 degrees and partly cloudy. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Just as a reminder...first cars off at 10AM sharp. I would get to the staging location (Iron Skillet) as early as 9AM to coffee up and gas up. Especially if you plan to be among the first cars out.We will be leaving in groups of 10 cars every 10 mins to keep the possibility of the group getting broken up to a minimum. You are welcome to form your own group and leave the staging area whenever you wish. We will meet up at the picnic park around noon. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH AND A COOLER WITH BEVERAGES. IT WILL BE HOT. DRINK LOTS OF WATER. I will provide every car with a written instruction/direction sheet. WARNING the route is tedious and likely you will miss a turn or two. I have marked the corners with numbered flags which corespond with the instruction sheet. That should help but it is still very rural and there are 54 turns in the 83 mile route. Pretty good chance to miss one.For those less adventurous I have trained three group leaders. One will take the first group out,one will be in mid-pack and one will take the final group out. We have engaged the services of a "runner" and each person will have his phone number. He will come and find you if lost and get you back on track. Unless your totally lost and are in New Jersey by the time you call him in which case you will be on your own.I have done as much as possible to make this event safe and fun. The rest will be up to you tommorrow. If you come with a friendly attitude, drive within the limits of the environment, your skill level and common sense we will have lots to talk about over ice cream. Act like adults and get treated like adults. I reserve the right to refuse anyone from participating in this event if I determine they are acting in a way that is unsafe to the participants. Thanks for all of your tremendous support. Next post Saturday evening!!! Jon in Delaware
That's in Suitland, MD right? If so, I'll be there by 7:30. Thanks! looking forward to this. Cheers, Nawar
The plan is still around 8:30. According to Joe, Iron Skillet is not THAT far from there. (45 mins?) I will still arrive a little before 8:30 though. See you there. -Marc
