So we got some insider information on the new Lotus sports car being developed:

    - a confirmed Lotus Project Eagle
    - tail lights and rear panels are fake
    - will release in '08 in the UK and '09 in the US
    - priced around 75k$
    - 2+2 convertible and forced induction version to come 12 months later
    - compete against the 911 carrera
    - 1500 units a year production
    - Toyota sourced engine
    - the rear is suppose to look more like Aston Martin than the 4 lights bugatti/Ferrari look
    - it's internal code name is Project Eagle- thats not the final name
    - it is meant to bridge the gap between the Elise/Exige and the Esprit
    - this way, it'll allow the Elise and Exige much more track worthy and 'hardcore'
    - based slightly (aesthetically?) on the M250 Lotus concept car from a couple years back

    2+2 ?
This had better not be the new Esprit as Lotus NEEDS a supercar.

    Yes 2 + 2.
It is not the Lotus "supercar esprit replacement". This will slot in between.
