Well at least you were smart enough to have only bought the one Ferrari................................................... (looking at ceiling and shuffling feet)
this guy seems to think it is , is this a normal resale price , how much do they sell for .........part from being a really nice car is that to overpriced http://www.drive.com.au/used-cars/FERRARI/599/Melbourne/detail.aspx?id=3760505&pg=2&pp=2&d=0&nv=1&SG=-1744248307
Thats what they sell for mate. Its either pay $720K now, or wait a few years to own a new 599. Pappy will snap one up when they hit $250K. Yes, I am willing to wait 15 yrs.
Someone I know picked a new one up interstate for a pretty good discount off retail. The depreciation appears to have set in.
Perhaps. The same was mentioned when I was in the US. But cars are still selling for US$200K over RRP. Cars I saw at dealers were around US$485K. I saw 3 all up. Heard a story when I was over there, where one guy picked one up for retail US$285K. Drove it for 1000 miles over 2 months and flipped it for US$450K. The guy was friends with the guy who owned a Fcar dealership. His mate sold him the car for retail, who then sold the car on for a LARGE profit. Care to lend me $700K at 5% Scott to buy my own 599? Nicole will be used as security to finance this loan. She just doesnt know about it.
You could have invested money in houses yes, but think of all the great people you've met on Fchat and the good times you've had. Can a house do that??
As previously mentioned........I DO NOT regret it at all. I have had a great 2 years of Fcar ownership and the friends I have made here has been fantastic!! She will be on the next plane to Melb for a free evaluation mate!
You are being clever Pap since at least you're enjoying some fruits of your labour - from what I've seen a large number of people who go to these inhospitable places end up just pi**ing the money away. Like my miserable 3 months in Darwin - earned about 4 times what I make being a beach bum at home but ate and drank most of it so end result was nothing much to show for it except a few weeks vacation in Asia and new wheels and tyres on the big car. Never again go to work somewhere without beaches or Italian cars! BTW, unless you can afford east of the main drag on the GC, forget it, the rest is yuck and the traffic would drive you nuts.
Gee, thanks mate. Cheers Karen. I'm not doing too bad if you ask me. My old boss from when I was fixing cars once told me, he worked for years FIFO from Perth. He saved around $140K over 5 years working. This was in the late 90's when he had all that cash. He finally had enough of work, so he stopped working and started spending his money. He eventually pissed all that money up the wall over 2 years!! The guy was 35 yrs old at the time! Nothing for buying a house or investing it ect....... He regrets it now, thats for sure.
I went to Townsville the other day to watch a Silverchair/Powderfinger concert. For those who do not know about it, they are doing an Aussie wide tour at the moment. I recommend going to see it, if they come to town. The show was awesome and they both sounded fantastic!! The show was better than I expected. Just some random pics of each band for those that are interested.
