What do you guys think of adding the side fender shield ?

For those who have added this on their cars, do you use the plastic decal or the metal shield ? Also, where did you get your set ?

I personally don't like them; it's overkill. The car and it's lines speak enough.
Oh...and F car owner's wives should be banned from wearing any Ferrari apparel as well!!!

I hate to be a naysayer.
However, I bought a set of shields from Yoshi. One was perfect. One was clearly defective and wouldn't fit well. I called him and emailed him and he said he would send a replacement. I still haven't heard anything. That was a month ago.
The one that worked well was excellent and I'm sure I happened to have one dud for some reason. It clearly didn't fit at all. This stuff happens...that didn't bother me. What did was that after the sale I've gotten zero help.
I had heard nothing but great things about Yoshields and I'm sure they're perfect 99% of the time.

Stay on him. I had a similar problem with the second set I bought (I have bought three sets over the years). He travels a lot and I recall getting "lost in the shuffle", but a reminder email and he sent one right out after he returned from being out of the country. I had the same issue that the curvature was not correct...but his most recent ones (1mm thick) seem to be thin enough that when you press them on, they easily accept the curvature of the fender, no problem, by being stuck down by the adhesive tape (strong stuff btw).

I bought the resin shields from ebay for ~$40. The yoshi or ricambi shields are nicer, but not $300 nicer in my opinion. From 4 -5 feet away I can't tell the difference. I'd spend the extra $300 on a 360 challenge steering wheel :)

Why? My wife works and helps make my Ferrari possible. She told me to go get one. This is California, so technically, it's her car too.

I put mine on my 348 last night. I really think it gives the car more pizazz.

You have got to be kidding... or single. Getting your wife some Ferrari clothing, etc. is the best way to get her behind your hobby. I immediately got her some shirts from both Ferrari and FCA to go along with her BMW stuff. I couldn't break down for some Porsche apparel, althought I did look. :) Believe me, it's a small price to pay for her (temporary) enthusiasm.

My wife loves to wear Ferrari gear - the tank top looks especially good.

    Even Ferrari G-strings?

I cant take credit (or blame) for mine, the previous owner had it done, but I cant imagine "not" having it this way. The shields are a "must have" item, especially on dark color cars.

+1, really nice. However, i think the shields look good on 355's and after due to the smooth side image of the car. The 348 has those strakes so the shields do not really enhance the side view as much, IMO.

I found resin coated magnetic ones on ebay.......I personally don't like the glue or tape. Premiere auto(only licensed/authorized ferrari autobody in LA) can have them recessed into the fender. However, they are stamped in like the factory did on late model 355's and after. The recessed ones on that Black 348 are in too deep! 348 never came with any so the magnetic ones are a good option.

    BeeJay,

Fantastic car, and a great pic. Thanks for sharing.

I love the shields and put them on my car as an aftermarket. I wouldn't own a Ferrari without them.

BeeJay your car looks great!! I put the stickers on the 348 that I used to have. The 355 came with them from the factory and if I ever get another Ferrari I will put them on it. I think it adds to the cars looks and doesnt take anything away from it.

CMJ, Nice pics and a good looking car. I like your wheels. I have the same model and color and installed metal shields from Ricambe.
