Not the same car. They look similar but the 2004 car has lighter interior and was white back in the 70-80's.
They look better in person, plus they share the same chassis as the Iso's and Bizzarrini's, so they drive well. Factory picture Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice picture. Where was it taken? The Bizzarrini # 297 is now owned by a collector in northern Italy.

I was at the 2002 auction in monaco ( your car was there ) and i spoke with the owner paniza, the car had no chassis number and was built by himself. explain us, how a car without number and built by paniza, became overnight a p578 with a number ?, do you have magic spray ?
we known your cars, congratulations, you own a fake with no number who became good overnight. you try to hyde, and didn t want to discuss your paniza car on the forum, that all
paniza daytona is fake, now for sale at canepa racing for 800 000 $ ..owned by a member of your organisation you claim that you own alone the paniza lm can am, now you are 3 ? you import a car built in 2000 and you surely lie on the custom papers. you claim that 6 p538 respectively p578 was built, pure invention. now all bizzarrini books are full of errors because they don t recognise your fakes ? i m sorry to tell you that your credibility is under zero. you don t accept the fact that the real name of paniza is lm can am but you enjoy the fact that the catalogu say 1983 ? anyway, thank you very much for your story as it s a good exemple of what to do if you want to loose credibility in a few days. show us the money, show the contract, show the custom papers. p.s (with original parts we have plenty of) i cannot stop smiling when i read your comments, you gerhard from san diego, you have bought a lm paniza recreation and now, you have found plenty originals parts for it ? i hope for you that any member of ferrarichat work for the customs !
Just to repeat my former messages: When we (=3 people) bought this P 538, we were absolutely aware that this car is a replica. So what's the problem?! The picture used in # 266 shows this car and was taken, of course not in San Diego, but in the present owners large garage in Italy, where it will remain for a long time. Even if the car was built around 2000, who cares? We don't mind. Once the car is brought back to the original looks and configuration (with original parts we have plenty of, because we own all the parts since 1978) it will be driven on the street and purely enjoyed. That is the purpose of this car, not more not less. A claim that this in an original one was never made anyhow. Giotto Bizzarrini made 6 P538 respectively P 578 between 1970 and 1984, all with similar features described before. We have a written and signed statement about it. You demand to provide you with all documents, invoices etc. Please don't try desperately to inflate your importance with these pompous remarks. Do you want to play the Great Inquisitor or Napoleon???? We are here in a Ferrari chat Forum and not in front of the tribunal. The answers are all in here. If you are willing or able to read english, you should read this over and over again, because this is the last message I will send anyway. Why? Message # 299: Just because we don't like to be pestered with people like you anymore. Totally unknown to anyone you introduced yourself to the Forum with insulting and inappropriate remarks, which do not earn you any credibility and trustworthiness. There is no reason at all to give any confidential informations about our cars and ourselves to someone behaving like this.
It was taken by me at Syon Park, London, during the Italian Car Day there. There were Grifos, lele, Fiat X1/9 Club, Lamborghini,Panteras, Ferraris, rare Alfas, even a Lancia 037. I spent a while chatting to Piet Pulford as he had his Lime green Muira there. Was a very good car display.
hi eckos1, can you answer theses W questions about your p538 WHEN car was built ? WHO built it ? WHERE car was built ? WHICH parts was use ? WHO first owner ? WHICH chassis number is stamp on chassis ?
AHJ 1 is #305 owned by my good friend Hugh James. He did own #297 as well, but it was sold to Italy a few years ago. It has just featured in a nice article in the October issue of the Italian mag Automobilismo d'Epoca. Another old friend Alex Fyshe has owned #309 for a good many years. Registration number is ABZ 666. We also have #215, an early RHD Grifo A3/C that is owned and raced by Nick Wigley. Of course there is #201, owned by Jose Albuquerque, which had the bad crash at Goodwood recently, driven by Martin Stretton. This car is based here, though it was raced around Europe too. The second car built, #202 (Sebring 1964) was here for a number of years, and was restored by its owner Ian Giles, but it was sold to California, where it is currently for sale again at $1.3 million. #204 is currently here under restoration. Brian Classic has owned (and used to race) #207, the 1964 Le Mans car (and a host of other races) for many years now. He also owns #273. I believe he currently has #253 still for sale. The John Bendall car, claiming the chassis number #315, has been successfully raced here and in Europe for a number of years. It is generally agreed to be a recreation. The 1966 Le Mans car, #BA4 0106, is currently advertised for sale by Gregor Fisken in London. The other two RHD cars originaly sold here, #206 and #217 are both now owned abroad, as are several other chassis numbers such as #264, #287, #330 which lived here at various times. Others have been here at one time or another, usually for restoration. #332 used to be raced here by Hugh Taylor. It was on the market a while back and I'm not sure if it is still in the UK or not. I hadn't realised how many we've had in the UK, until you asked the question!
It is #106/D, owned for many years by Charles Howsden of Billingham. He died a few years ago, and his widow now has it for sale.
