Keep it and install vortex cones. They will quiet it some.

Can't blame you. I know this is heresy around here, but after following a buddy's 355 with a Capristo level 2 for about an hour, I think even that is too loud. I love the pitch, but the volume is a bit much for my taste. I would love to hear a Capristo level 1, that may be the ideal version for me.

 

i have a 95 with tubi exhaust and tubi straight pipes. Which capristo level is equivalent in volume to my setup?

 

A Capristo level 1. The Capristo level 2 at full throttle screams like a banshee! With my top down on my 355 spider, my ears hurt! No kidding!

 

it true...I have level 2, and test pipes.... 108dB(A) last time we raced on circurt. measured 10 meters from the racing line..

 

wow level 3 must be insane cuz my car is pretty friggin loud...

 

I have a Spider and I love my Cappy 2. I have to say that the sound is not quite as loud as it was when I first installed it. Maybe I'm getting more used to it.

 

Well I should mention that when I say the Capristo level 2 is too loud from my 355 spider, I have to remind, this is while FOLLOWING, my friend's 355B F1 with the Capristo....my car has the stock exhaust. The volume may be more tolerable from the cockpit, rather than from the tail.

 

Its not that you're getting use to it. Its that you are losing your hearing. But if that solves the problem.....

 

Yes, they are screens that are tack-welded into the exhaust to straighten up flow (ie quiet). They are very popular with the Viper guys because of the sidepipes being insanely loud with high resonance. Look on jegsdotcom or the summit racing site.

 

WHAT??? I didn't hear you.......... Having just come back from the American Le Mans race here at Road Atlanta, I'm sure I'll barely be able to hear the Capristo exhaust on my Ferrari tomorrow. It's like having Capristo level 8 go flying by six feet from you at 185 mph. Truly awesome!!!!

 

My 95 GTB is perfect with cap stg 3, but I would LOVE to hear one in a spider to redline thru a very small tunnel...

I am very pleased with my Cap Level 1 in my spider. I can wake the dead with it when I want to, but it sounds civilized at leisurely driving. My bud just got Level 2's, and when we drive together and get on it, sounds like Formula 1!, but his is "always loud", mine isn't. Save the Level 3's for "Race Only" (or coupes!)

 

I have just added Tubi headers, hyperflow cats & capristo level 2 to my car. And to be honest after yesterdays long drive of about 10 hours (500 miles) I had a headache. Like BST1 said its loud all of the time and screams at high rpm's. However I wont change mine but I could never have your exhaust on a spider.

 

i was never a fan of the Capristos. hail the almight Tubi.

angelo those links dont seem to be working but i im a fan of the tubi also...i've never heard a capristo so cant speak about it but the 95 355s with tubi and test pipes sound intoxicating...

 

i have a 95 355 with testpipes as well. Cant quite match the sound on the 96 plus 355. I think you may need to now log in to watch videos or ugrade macroflash player? I miss driving the 355. We just finished doing the tbelt and valve adjustment only to have my neighbors german shephard in CT bite through teh engine harness wires. Ordered a new set of harness so should be done soon.
