Mega Thread: The 430 Replacement (F450, F500, etc)

HAS ANYONE HEARD ABT 430'S REPLACEMENT MODEL IN 2010-2011?

INSTEAD OF WAITING AROUND FOR ANOTHER 2YRS FOR MY 430, MIGHT AS WELL JUST GO FOR 430'S REPLACEMENT IN 2010? ANYONE CARE TO SHARE ANY VIEW?

 

F430 was launced in 2004 (not 2005) and will replaced late 2009. The replacement model will be called F540, I guess.

 

There was never anything mentioned of a F540 being the replacement of the F430. Just rumors and speculation.

yes...as we all heard rumors it may be F540...i have also read in some place it may be called F480
we just have to wait longer for an official ferrari source

I hope that they come up with a name instead of a number. I'm tired of saying that I drive a 430 and people think of a lexus, mercedes... And if I say that I drive a Ferrari 430 people look at me as if I was a little snob.

 

does anyone know if i can order 430 replacement model now in HK? how does it work...? I mean the name has not even came out yet, how do i secure a spot? Has anyone done it before?

 

Umm... Just go down to IMSS, and tell them you want one. They will ask for a deposit (I think I heard in the region of $200k), and there you go! Rumoured to be called the 499, but who knows?

 

You write a contract on a 430 with an option to switch to the successor model if and when it comes. Deposit cheque is 250k and it is non-refundable and non-interest bearing. You will find that lots of people thought of this long before you did

 

Now why would anyone do this unless they really have lots of spare $

 

I know at least 3 people who have done this. Not only with the 430 successor, but previously with the 997 GT3 RS too. But WAIT... These guys I know DO have lots of spare $$$. In fact, that's why they've got Ferraris in the first place! Hahaha...

Well, I'm a poor guy to start with.

RS & special cars I can understand but not regular prod cars & I'd like to put my $ in places where there's better returns than sitting in somebody's acct

 

Simple then - you can drive a BMW 3 series!!! You won't get a cool car in HK unless you are prepared to put down deposit far in advance. I waited over 2 years for my RS and I have 4 deposits on other cars now. All price of admission. Cool cars do not fall out of the sky!

 

I see HK is quite different from here cos when we're patient & a little lucky, cool cars do fall out of the sky but we still have to pay for it

That is quite a wait for the RS but I'm sure you're grinning when they handed the keys to you.

right again....all these numbers are killing me!!!! I wish Ferrari would throw us a bone and tell us something about the new cars, but they wont...so its all rumors and inuendos.............i even heard from one dealer that the f430 replacement might be a twin turbo 6cycl. like the f40.......now that would be weird..........i would actually like a v10, ala the CGT and Gallardo, with of course 580-600 hp in a lighten 3000lbs car....

 

Does anyone know when it's coming to the U.S. How much will it cost? What are the rumored specs? If this had been covered in earlier threads please accept my apologies. I'm trying to figure out wether to keep my 430 till then or not....long story

 

This something we all want to know but no one knows fore sure.

 

I would presume a launch by the end of 2009.
