Has anyone heard much about this year's Buffalo Run? Have any of you guys registered? Sounds like it's going to be a 3 day event this year with a track day added. I know it's still 2 months away but I haven't heard many people buzzing about it--it sure was fun last year!!!

    From the website:

Wednesday, October 10 - Kansas Speedway Track Day sponsored by KCI Motorsports Park

Friday, October 12 - VIP Party at Blonde

Saturday, October 13 - Buffalo Run!!!

    Hey V,
I showed up at Anthem yesterday and signed up in person. Lori, (Laura?), didn't have exact numbers but she figured about 150 cars are in with room for 225. The dealine to sign up was last Friday but Im sure they will take more entries even at this point.
Laps/Track day sounds good from 12:30-4:30 on Wednesday and she said the afterparty is at the downtown airline museum, instead of Aristocrat, with Sister Hazel performing.

Hey fellas. Actually, this year is going to be huge. Children's Mercy is the charity. We've booked Collective Soul to play the concert! There's a track day at the speedway on the 10th, the party on the plaza on the 12th, and Buffalo Run on the Country Club Plaza, finishing at the Downtown Airport for the concert on the 13th.

We've extended the sign up through the end of September. We will be able to accomodate slightly more cars than last year. We are nearly sold out so sign up soon. You can sign up online this year so it is very easy.

I was there last year and the event was great...Thanks Weaver. Unfortunately I will not be able to make the event this year, but it's for a fantastic reason. We're having a little guy within a week or so of the event. Seeing as though we did make it home to Wichita last year in 1 hr 45 mins (though not suggested), I don't think my wife would appreciate me being so far away.

Cheerio my friend. Have a fantastic time this year,
    -BJ

Hey guys, I need some pics of your rides for the pre-rally video. If anybody wants to shoot some video of their car on Saturday, let me know.

Are there still some guys that meet for breakfast on Sat mornings?

It was Sister Hazel for a couple weeks there was a conflict so it didn't happn....then....I started saying collective soul.....I meant Soul Asylum. Soul Asylum will play the wrap up concert on Saturday night....we finally signed the contract this week.

Friday night will be remarkable...I won't say much.....but paint and skin are involved.

Vivek, are you bringing the spyder?

I've added to my collection this year so I'll have a new F car out there. Only problem is that I won't be driving!

Some people have commented that there is too much promotion of the parties and not the driving/cars. This is crazy....the city is letting the cars stay on the plaza even longer on Saturday so people can enjoy the cars together. The course is all new and has been designed once again by KC's own Chris Parr (Crescent Classic, Rosso, etc....the godfather) and Stu Schlemmer (the cleanest/nicest classic Ferrari you'll ever see).

A funny side note....I know more than ten people that have actually gone out and ordered new cars in time for Buffalo Run.....It's like women and party dresses...can't be seen in the same car two events in a row!

The girls say there's still a few spots left.

Not quite sure yet--my co-pilot is not big on the exhaust smell that eventually saturates your clothes after a long drive!! I guess it will also depend on the weather since the car has no top! Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

We were asked to coordinate an autocross as an addition to the event for 2008. Is that something you guys would want added? I think it sounds like fun.

The final routes were completed today, the roads are excellent and I must admit you will be challenged!

This should be another great year, Brian and his staff have really worked hard to make this year even better than last year!

I love the idea of incorporating an autocross into the rally in 2008!

I will see everyone at the Plaza and again at the track on Saturday.

    Should be an excellent run!

Man, looks to be a great weekend with all of the events AND the weather forecast even looks good!
Sounds like Chris and Stu have put a lot of effort into making fun and challenging routes. I followed them, (in cognito in my Z), on Saturday so I already know the routes.
The guys in the BMW Club, esp. Blake Heinrich and Ryan Staub have a lot of experience in setting up Autocross events. They use the pavement out at Arrowhead. That would be a blast.

Bill, we were working on the route for LAST year since you finished so far back we thought we would give you another to try and finish!

Actually, we will make sure we put Bill on the routes we worked on FRIDAY, so he won't see anything of what we did on Saturday.

(I do not think anyone could have kept up with Stu in his Camry on Saturday anyway.....)

Hey...I'm just the driver...McCormick was the navigator. After we ended up in Lawrence last year I gave up and fired him for this year. That guy couldn't find his way to the Plaza.

People did show up. There were more fine automobiles there than I expected to see considering the weather...which was pretty bad. I had a good time although I did not drive my Viper. Kurt E
