Sunday October 28, starts at 9:00 AM at the Dilworthtown Inn, 1st cars off at 10:00. It winds through Chester County. I just got my invitation in the mail. I don't know if it is invitation only, but a call to Heather at Algar might provide an answer for those who did not get an invite. 610-527-1100 I'm planning on doing this. I've never done a rally before, but I suspect this one is pretty relaxed, and quite enjoyable. Anyone else get an invite? Anyone else planning to attend? Should be a nice close to the season of driving, and way more fun than the Ferrari "parade" of last month. Drive through Chester County, fall foliage, yadda yadda.
We didn't get an invite, but I'll call and inquire. I hope it's not exclusive to recent Algar patrons because my dad and I really want to do it-- plus the starting point is one mile from the house!
I haven't seen the invite yet but if I'm free that day and I do get my invite, I'm in. Aren't these usually Saturday's though?
Make sure you bring a co-driver and a clipboard! Usually involves looking for answers to questions. Prizes based on number of correct answers, etc... The lunch they have is usually pretty good too. Here are my pics from last year: http://picasaweb.google.com/ALXLEE3/2006AlgarFerrariRally
Dave, I go every year and it is a great rally. Relaxed it is not however. There are quite a few who love to really run on this event. There are plenty of others who are just there to enjoy the day and cruise. Their event is very well organized. -Marc
First, sorry I missed Jon's event yesterday. I could get out of the wedding plans for a very good friend! I will absolutely be joining in Algar's event. Hopefully not the last soiree of the year but it will be close... Looking forward to a great crowd. Joe
Didnt get an invite yet but I am sure I will. Probably either held up due to the fact I am at the end of the alphabet or since I am in Delaware my mail probably is sorted in kansas and then sent to Delaware. I will definetly be there!! Already on the calendar. Jon
I'm sorry I have the brains not to push it on an unfamiliar road with crested hills, blind turns, and 7 cars in front of me with random stop signs. By the way, where did you go on the second half of the drive?
For the second half of the drive Eric, (the guy with the 350Z) had stopped because he had a problem with something scraping under his car. After we got started again we went left instead of right (after the covered bridge) so we had turn around. We eventually caught back up but we ran into the guy with the 280Z who was broken down on the side of the road, so we stopped and helped him get his car started. We then found Jon and made it to the creamery. That was our second half of the drive. Jim
How cool. This is right down the street from me. Shame we don't have the Ferrari here yet. Only 2 more years!!
Actually, they caught up with us about thirty seconds after you guys took off! Bob, I didn't get an invite yet either! Jon, did you ever get one or are they getting rid of all us Delawareans?
Guys, any and all are welcome. Those who didnt get invites are encouraged to call Heather and sign up! The more the merrier. Ferrari or not, Algar welcomes all with open arms. -Marc
