I don't think is even possible... although, in theory, it's more efficient aerodynamically, the enemy here is drag... with those rear, and front tires, and the wider bodywork, even with the power it produces, it will be good for more 10~15km/h than a 'normal' Miura... H.
There's only one way to find out... !! ;-) Do you think that RAF will let us use that airfield ?? Still waiting for the 'behind-the-scenes' photos... these are the official ones...and they are very, very heavy !! H.
Ahhh ! ...but this car isn't from the 60's...or 70's !! Anyway, I did some rough calculations, it will top 289.8km/h@7300rpm in 117.56sec.! It will get there quicker than a standard S(288.2km/h@7800rpm in 147.02sec)... Shifting at 8000rpm it will be not far from this: 0-100km/h:3.6 sec, in 1st gear - normal S will do 5.6sec(2nd gear) 0-160km/h(100mph):8.2sec - S 11.7sec 0-400m:11.9sec - S 13.5sec Sounds good ?? H.
Helio, you posted "327,52 kmh!!!" I think youre the one that got it wrong The blurred image suggestive of speed and the exclamations (!!!) you put after those numbers would lead anyone reading your post to think that you wanted to convey the message that this car had done that speed that you posted. Great images though. Joe www.joesackey.com
Yes it all "sounds good" but do these numbers mean anything? Without definitive testing I dont think we should be throwing too many numbers all over the place and Im sure the car's owner would be the very first person to agree with that. For my part anyway, The Miura as a car, this one included, is not about numbers. Never has been and never will be. Joe www.joesackey.com
Yes I did... I didn't get it wrong. You all assumed that it was the speed of the car... but, as I said, it's just the photo title or name...;-) H.
Agreed... it's not about numbers... they can mislead you into something else !! ;-) Even with testing, numbers tend to rationalize something that just can't be....rationalized !!! They're fun to play with, though... H.
On a dyno, you're taking out of the equation the 'biggest' problem... aerodynamic drag ! Not a real world solution... not even for power, let alone speed ! H.
few miura pics here from an event in NY (not mine, i simply saw them on another thread) http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/1003/greg84mk2/Forums/ITEC/Americana/ http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d57/mattalicslvr8g/?start=20
is it ? wider arches, wider tyres and those canards will not help it become more efficient aerodynamically. the canards may help stop lift, but that will be with the penalty of a higher Cd and frontal area the wheels and arches wont help on any front but again penalise the Cd and frontal area
Joe your work has had a big hand in exposing me to the Miura and THAT is one of the images that really got my attention. IMO one of the best photoshoots ever.
I said, in theory... aerodynamic efficiency doesn't mean lower Cd or lower frontal area. Look at race cars... the goal is efficiency ! Aerodynamic efficiency means how, and where, the air flows on the body surface, avoiding high pressure areas... lift ! If you're telling me that it will have more drag than a normal Miura, yes, most definitely... H.
OK, thanks for clarifying that you were just messing with us and making us think that the car acheived this speed when in fact it did not. As I said, any normal person who saw your post would think this was what you were trying to say. Next time you title a photo with numerical detail, we will try not to take it so seriously. Joe www.joesackey.com
Helio, too many theories and proclamtions! "More efficient aerodynamically" ? Based on what testing? As I see the car, I think not. "Good for more 10 - 15 km/k than a 'normal' Miura" ? As I see the car's frontage, I think not. Look, Piet's car is simply awesome, and Im sure he will be the first to agree, lets leave it at that. None of these theories and proclamations will ever go anywhere or really mean anything. Joe www.joesackey.com
Same car, one set of images is "washed out" so the car looks orange. Its actually red. Joe www.joesackey.com
yezzzzzzz! Sounds VERY good! Its an awesome car and a good replacement of the original that is on the Big Circuit since many years! But....its not the original! Ciao! Walter
