I urgently need a lower left hand light unit for a rhd 348, the lower fog/flasher one. Had old one taken out on silverstone track day, need a new one to go racing this sunday in norfolk.

If ANYONE can help I shall offer sex, money, children, wife or just about anything else!

Need one too, been looking for ages, they're like hens teeth to get !!

Eurospares can get you one but they are about £450 which I'm loath to pay for a bit of glass that'll probably get broken again....

I have clear ones (US spec) in stock. If we ship today, it'd be there for the weekend. Call me in a few hours on 336-499-2500 in the U.S.

Paul Hill has a pair of yellow French fogs, but needs to sell the complete pair, not a single unit. He's closer, but might not be what you're looking for.

Good idea. Although, I reckon the cost of making them, would be the same as buying them already made. :p:p

Daniel You are a star and I'm a very happy bunny (espec as I don't have to sleep with PAP now). I was just looking at your stock list and wondering how different US spec is, presumably not that great, can you let me know. Dave will be giving you at ring at sun up your time.

If you might be interested in a plastic version of the lower left fog light for a 348, there is a guy over here (Portugal) that has paid for the moulds and did one for himself. Maybe he would be interested in producing a few more ... If you are interested I can talk to him and find out.
    Let me know

Why not ask if can make some plastic covers to go in front of the originals, to protect them? I'm sure most of us would buy a pair.

I had the XPEL covering placed on mine, and now I sleep soundly at night and don't really worry about them breaking.

    This is the basic idea:

Tried contacting him today, but the shop is on holiday until August, 18th.
Guess we'll have to wait. In case you're curious this is the place: http://www.automuseu.com/
He has a 348 for sale and needed to replace a front left fog light so he had one made

Very many thanks Daniel, arrived safely this morning.

There are a few differences between us and uk spec as we knew there would be. Main ones seem to be US has 2 orange 2 filament bulbs instead of single filament turn and side light bulbs. Easy to swap bulbs over and use UK wiring connectors and rear cover. So I kept the turn bulb orange - the UK has an orange plastic sheet on lense with white bulb. I couldn't swap this over without taking glass off. Which, although just stuck on, is fairly well stuck on and after a bit of a try I couldn't risk breaking it!

The final difference is only 1 spot light on the US model. I have a fog lamp and a flasher light. The US just had a blank, but this was easy enough to put the bulb fitting in. Although again the US model has a diffuser cover over this bulb, which again I can live with for time being.

So I will fit tomorrow, with new rad. do a bit of panel beating to remove sharp bits from dented wing - add lots of gaffer tape and we are road leagl again and can race on Sunday! phew.

this forum is great thanks to all for help on this one. I shall look after these lights a little more carefully now I know how rare they are!

Well, after having forgotten about this subject, today I ran into the guy and asked him about the 348 front left glass. He still didn't do it, but he will do the replicas in plastic, not glass, and only for the glas replacement, not the whole light assembly.

If anyone is still interested, he says the mould will cost him around 1,000 euros + 100 euros for each reproduction. He is happy to divide the mould cost for n reproductions. If there are 5 , cost will be (1,000+500)/5 = 300 euros + shipping

Let me know what you think !

Many thanks Rui, I have a guy over here who has made up some plastic ones already. but what a pain it is removing the old ones, so well stuck in. there is no way they would come out without breaking the glass thats for sure. still a simple job once old glass removed.
