There are two real 959's in NC. One is Mr. Ingram's, it's red. The other is silver (which is probably what Brian saw) and I think in owned by one of the Drindel's. yes, you can get the federalized, or you can just buy a car dealership and run them on dealer tags. Bob Ingram did both....

I was speaking to Matt Drendel today, forgot to ask him about this.

I need to try to arrange a tour of their collection for some of you guys.

Just to clarify, this isn't Drendel's machine. As his car is White w/ White wheels.

Back in 1994 I was at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and as I went thru the tunnel to the infield, I heard the most incredible sound, and looked up to see a red 959 doing some fast laps around the speedway.. Needless to say, it was quite a sight, and the one and only time I've ever seen a 959 in person..

I saw one in Jacksonville, FL a few weeks ago, silver/black, in a private collection that had just been acquired and federalized.

New job, new mtn house...no auto fun. Had hoped to do the Club Race thing but alas more work to do. BTW, your pics of the Ferraris in the Village were grrreat. Hate I missed the burnout. Can we get Kevin to organize lunch at Manzetti's or Changs on 12-1? I need to get my 20 year old out of bed.

This Sloan Cars dealer has some amazing P-cars. He has a couple of very rare 1994 911 Turbo S's without the sloped hood, a few very low-mile '97 911 Turbo S's, and a few gorgeous '89 5-speed Turbos as well. Here's the 959: http://www.sloancars.com/vs1/detail.asp?CarID=251

Perchance, is it red? Because I have seen a red 959 here in Greenville before one time but on two consecutive days and then it was gone from the place I saw it. I never mentioned it because it's sort of like seeing a ghost when you didn't really believe in them in the first place. Who do you tell? lol. I'm not certain whose it is, but I have a hunch.

Funny, I saw the same car a few months ago on Woodruff Road in Greenville. I did not know if it was the real deal, but it sure looked like it from brief glance I got in traffic.

Got some more info on the described car.

    It's a 959 'Komfort' that's been somewhat converted into a 'Sport.' He's from Mooresville.

The car in this picture I believe is Helmut Bott's personal car, the only one fitted by Porsche with a cat. Originally reg. in Switzerland
