308qv Thermostat and Air Intake removal-need help

Perhaps it´s possible to access from above, but I think that you will need to remove the wheel well liner. In the pictures you can see the metal piece that fixes it to the body. Good luck

YES you must remove the wheel-well liner to remove the duct - its extremely trivial once the wheel and wheel-well liner are removed. In fact, you'll be 'going in there' fairly often, so you might as well get the practice!

In fact, Carlos' first picture shows a commonly 'missing' piece of ductwork - there is supposed to be a piece of orange ribbed duct coming off of the branch outlet of the black plastic duct, that provides cooling air to the Alternator. For a second there, I thought I was looking at MY car, lol!

 

I think the branch outlet that suppose to have the orange duct (missing) is for cooling the right inner CV boot.

This is the cooling air duct you need for the Alt.
Make sure you have this, it helps cool the alt. a lot.
